    first 1911

I just ordered a sig scorpion 5" 1911 as it came recommended by a few people as a good, well priced 1911. I'm kind of having some second thoughts as I had a sig p229 btfo before and hated it. Anyone have any thoughts/ experience with the platform??? Thank you

Talking totally different platforms in ergos, trigger, etc.
If you handled/liked 1911's then you will probably love it...even with Sig's 1911 quirks.
If you hate it, someone will buy it from you

Well my S&W 1911 has an exterior extractor and I have taken it out several times now and it has yet to have a single FTE or ftf or any other three letter problem some guns have, I would bet my life on that gun.

I've got no problem with the Sigs or SW 1911's...I was merely stating a few of the differences between them and "traditional" ones since the OP seemed relatively new to the 1911

Umm, who told you that would be a great first purchase?

You would have been better off with a Rock Island Tactical, a handful of magazines, and 1000 rounds of ammo. After some time you will learn on your own what things you would prefer and dislike.

My first and only sig 1911 was a scorpion carry. Out of the box, didnt go into battery. Sent it in to sig, found out that the barrel was throated way too shallow and it took 6 weeks to get back. Wasnt happy.

Nothing wrong with wanting something higher quality. Im sure he wont regret it in the long run if thats the one he truly wanted. I know when i get a gun out of jail i cheaped out on i just feel stupid cause i dont want it anymore haha.

How was it when they got it back to you?

Are you happy with it now?
                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

High end? Do you mean something that costs more money? Or, maybe something that looks prettier? What is your definition of "high end"? I've heard from many 1911 owners that they are just as satisfied with their RIA Tactical as their "higher end" 1911's (as far as performance, accuracy, reliability, and customer service are concerned). Just curious what your reason for not being into them could be.
