FYI, if you buy the XDs 45 before the end of the month (Friday), you get 3 free additional mags and a pouch, which may help you with the difference in price.

Wait...so your LGS is selling the LC9s for <$350 and no SSE??? Where the heck is that if you don't mind me asking?

An LC9s and a XDS 45 are two completely different guns, but keep in mind you're only going to get 1 mag. with the Ruger and 5 mags. with the Springfield if you pay for it by Friday.

Hey there... yes thats kinda what the dilemma is right now. I actually have two more SSE slots but in December there is a chance I may have to go to NY for work for a month... so that SSE might be gone. So it may come down to this being my last SSE. So should I get the XDS now and get the free mags or go for the LC9s and get what is probably a gun I would carry more..

How does the LC9s compare to the XDS and Shield in size?

Good question. I'm sure a gunsmith could. You would have to "drive out" the pin.

Do a quick search about this. I could pocket carry my lc9 with cargo shorts. I haven't carried my shield (not on permit) but I don't think I would pocket carry it as it's a little bigger. I decided to pocket carry a lcp in the summer and IWB the Shield during the rest of the year.

It's tough trying to find the perfect gun that does it all. I really like my off roster shield and even the lcp. The newer ones have a better trigger and with the hogue grip, it works for my hands.

I just dros' d my LC9s today. Dry fired it a few times and it felt great. Personally, I don't think I'd want my sd gun to have a trigger that's amy shorter or lighter.

This gun feels awesome in my hand. The real test will be when I shoot it but so far so good.

I think a lot of it boils down to personal preference. I had a Shield and sold it. It just wasn't for me.

If you get a LC9s, be sure to see the guide rod recall thread.

I've heard that problem is fairly dated. Also, it's not a critical failure. If you DROS it today, it's probably new stock.
