ruger lc9s?

Ding, Ding, Ding...have a winner here. The trigger is very nice. The reset is not. Basically you carry the entire trigger stroke all the way back forward before it resets. It's almost the same as a revolver. I bought one and sold it after one range trip. It's a nice break, but the reset (or lack of) is a cruel joke IMO.

Was considering the LC9s. Good trigger, but don't like the long reset.

How does it compare in size to the other pocket 9s? How would you rate its size and weight to the shield vs xds vs 938?

I just bought an XD-S. Much nicer trigger overall than the LC9s. It will live in an IWB holster. It's heavier than the LC9s and I didn't like the LC9s in my pocket. I wear cargo shorts, so I don't like heavy guns flopping around in my loose pockets. In fact, I wouldn't pocket carry any of the guns you've mentioned. That roll will get assigned to the G42 once I get one put on my permit.

LC9s vs Shield

Let me start by saying I had the shield first and then bought the LC9s after having already shot the shield.

The trigger pull on the striker fired Ruger is STILL too long. It still doesn't feel anything like any other striker fired pistol. I think Ruger missed the mark on this one.

Yes it does need SSE. It is double action so the trigger sucks but it is a self defense gun not a target shooter.

I have the sig 938, glock 26, xds 9.. Truthfully the xds 9 is kinda bigger and heavier than the 938.. I was looking to get a striker fired 9mm when I bought it on a whim.. I don't own any small 45s so the xds 45 is kinda appealing.. And the lc9s is quite a bit lighter than the xds and pretty well priced?

Between LC9s vs. XDs, I've handled both and trigger & reset from Xds' is much better. Price is a bit higher, but it comes with 2 mags & SA's gear-up program free 3 x-tras mags. Best deal !!

Ruger has their own ideas on Customer Service, when one gunsmith began (you guys know who) modifying their LC9 trigger they made the trigger parts factory install only and Refused to sell customers any parts..

The LC9s has a very good trigger. Single reset position unlike the double reset on the LC9.

I just sold my lc9 with galloway trigger job and cerakoted slide. While I was doing the ppt, I handled the dry fired the lc9s. After my time with the lc9, I would not get the lc9s. Here is why:

1) the safety protrudes out and digs into your skin when carrying IWB
2) the bluing is cheap and rusts the moment it touches sweat
3) they now pin the front sight so they fixed that problem but make sure you locktite the rear sight screw
4) American made mags are junk! I could twist and pull them out
5) it has the mag disconnect safety installed
6) if works is done to the gun, shipping to you may be an issue (this is what I hear - no personal experience)

With the front sight being pinned... Can you change out the sights?

I haven't pulled the trigger on XDS, but I'm suprised some say it is better than LC9s.

Still, search google and see how people feel about the quality of XDs. If I was to get an XDS It would be in 45 because that is at least unique, but with the shield and PPS being out there as competition I don't see any reason to get the XDS just because it has a $20 front sight and some free magazines.

LC9s is smaller than the others mentioned above though, would probably be more of a competitor with the P938 and Kahr CM9/PM9. It felts good when I handled it, but I did not like the protruding safety, and magazine disconnect. Plus reading that ruger requires you to ship and recieve through an FFL for warranty work, is a big turn off.
