The balance on the gun feels a lot more in-tune for what I like than the TRP is, it's also why I have a FBI Professional Light Rail on order. The TRP is one helluva shooter and I would say if you could afford one, get it. But the MC was my first 1911 and I loved it. Only thing I would probably change is add a magwell to balance it out even more.

And a bit of product differentiation....the MC and TRP use both the same type of frame, a NM frame, the main difference is the TRP is a bit more tuned and fitted than the MC, but both for the most part (when they get it from batches), get slide to frame fitment before they get put back on the production line to be built. (Talked to SA during SHOT 2013 about this)

I'm also eying the MC Operator at my LGS, they have it for $1200 also. I have to wait a month because I just bought my TRP.

I just purchased my MC Op...waiting to pick it up in about a week. One thing that i really liked about it (aside from everything that people have mentioned already) is that it doesn't require any tools to take apart. I believe you need a tool to take the TRP apart.
This is my first 1911 and i'm just starting to learn more about them, so feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

Wow! That is a great price for NIB OTD! And here I was feeling pretty pleased with myself when I snagged a NIB for $1225 OTD.
A good rifle build isn't cheap, but a bad one can be expensive!

Is there such a thing as an MC Operator in all black instead of the two-tone?

do they still make them in all black or are they only available in the OD frame?

It's called a Long Beach Operator.

I believe the Long Beach Operator is a slightly modified version, not sure on it's availability at the moment though.

I picked mine up from ProForce about 2 years ago. The LB version is off roster.

I just got my MC Op about 2 weeks ago, and so far I'm really enjoying it. I anticipated wanting to replace the wrap-around rubber grip, but I actually find myself liking it well enough to not bother (at least for now).

Couldn't find one at any LGS so I bought one listed on gunbroker and didn't beat 1200 by much. I recommend snagging it before it's gone (unless you can't convince your wife that you need it ). You won't be sorry.
