    Springfield MC Operator

    hi guys..

I'm in the market for an 1911 and the Springfield has caught my eye..

I tried the Kimber but didn't like it.. and today, I finally got a chance to held the Springfield in my hands... it feels like a glove..

at the lgs, they have it at $1200 and I'm thinking about buying it.. with the promo, is hard to beat. .

has anyone had issues with theirs?

    thanks.

Don't have an Operator but I do have 2 other Springfields and they are great. Grab it and go shooting. You're going to love it!

$1200 for an MC Operator available locally is not a bad price at all...

Have it, love the gun more than I love my TRP, and honestly, if I had an issue, I'd just send it back to SA to fix it

What makes you dig the MC over the TRP?

This one is on my radar too. I've handled one and I love how it felt. Rail is nice too.

Love the MC Op. I wanted one forever and could never find one, ended up with a TRP and it's amazing. We have other 1911's and the SA is our favorite. The MC Op feels so awesome in your hands and is a fantastic value all things considered. .......still want one.

I've had no complains with my MC Operator. You can't go wrong with one that's for sure. Customer service is pretty good with Springfield too..

TRP is supposely "customshoped" and MC operater is based on "loaded" line. If the operator is better than the TRP, something is wrong, or somebody is. or you are just lucky, because you got a customshoped operator

The TRP does not have anything to do with the SA custom shop. It's a production gun.

                        And I'm not knocking them, I own 3 TRP's.

1200 is a great price, Better jump on it before it's gone.

Thats a good price. If you dont own a 1911, thats a REALLY nice one to start with. Probably wont ever need another.

i think what he means is that the TRP is a all around match grade firearm. Frame, barrel, slide, trigger..etc.

interesting in comparison to the MC operator which is only "partially" match grade. (frame and slide are not of match grade yet still high quality)

I guess it depends on which Kimber you tried =)

My favorite 1911 I own is the Kimber Gold Combat II. I also own the SA MC Operator. Its a great pistol. If you found it for $1200, snatch it up. If anything, you'll be able to sell it for more since these are so rare.

One thing to watch for is that the safety notch coating is a bit weak. I've shot about 300 rounds through it and it already started to peel. Anyhow, the pistol itself is nice.

                              IMO, buy it!
