Confidence in Glock shattered! :(

I took my Glock 23 out today and within 40 rounds of WWB, I had 6 or 7 stoppages. Everytime, the round was getting hung up on the feed ramp.

I had some of that tetra lube stuff in my bag so I took it apart and lubed it up and fired the last 60 rounds without any problems.

The gun was clean, but bone dry.. So I guess these things need to be lubed just like any other gun. I was under the impression that these guns were virtually invincible and would work regardless.

Interesting... just double checking, by any chance did you use a g19 mag for your g23? It really shouldn't happen that way.

Yea.. they're G23 mags.. maybe I was limp wristing. I was shooting the 1911 and P220 before I started with the Glock and I must say the G23 is a punishing gun to shoot. After 100 rounds of WWB, I was like "enough of that" .. I coulda shot the .45's all day though.

Anybody who told you that Glocks don't need lubrication had it wrong, they'll work well dirty but there are still parts that need lube. There's no such thing as a mechanical device that doesn't require maintenance.

No it isn't. Hi-points are junk. I hate them for a multitude of reasons. I would never own one. I despise them for ergonomics, aesthetics, and perhaps as well based on what they are... I have a slight bit of gun snob in me.

Nonetheless, I've shot dozens of them and never once had an issue. They are ugly, they are cheap, but they work. Just like a Glock. Perhaps the Glock is not quite as ugly, and nowhere near as cheap, but it's not much more reliable either.

That said, if your 23 is giving you trouble, you failed at owning a Glock. It needs minimum amounts of lubrication in 5 spots and a shooter with a good firm grip. Place a drop of oil on each of the 4 frame rails, a drop on the barrel hood, and then go shoot. Voila.
