They said then you can't buy a gun. I laid $800 on the counter and said, "This is the money you just lost because of your ridiculous, unnecessary paperwork." I then went to Reeds and was done in about 20 minutes. No extra paperwork.

    Wow, $800 IN CASH!?!?!?

    Did they totally freak out?

I hope you took proper the precautions.

That's the memory I have of Target Masters in Milpitas. A lot of gangsters and ghetto trash from east San Jose.

And who are you? Some white douche who wears his collars popped? lol.

I've a good friend in East S.J. He's a family man and an enthusiastic, responsible gun owner and shooter.

Posted in good fun, of course. Take it easy. Thanks OP for the TM heads up.

Get on over to Idaho...we don't know about safe affidavits.

I'm in and out of any LGS here just as fast as I can fill out the 4473 and lay my money down.

Reviews are and have been always welcome here...but a store review is not a store review unless poster names the store.

In reality, fewer things are more ignorant here than some whiny sniveling tear-jerking posts about butt hurt in a store where the poster starts by writing "I'm not going to name the store, but...".

          Drives me nuts.

Store reviews help by leading folks to stores with good service, and, hopefully, letting stores with lousy service wither and die...as they should.

I find that post somewhat racist.

Are you claiming east San Jose is not bario-ville??

Hee. How is that possible? I come from a long line of white folks, myself.

My friend in ESJ is Latino, if that's what you mean.

I only responded to what's-his-name with humor when I thought his post "elitist". Hahaha... and round and round we go, derailing a thread.

TM sucks. There. Back on track.

Haven't used TM in years. Their paperwork fiasco is truly unbelievable. I remember it taking over 90 minutes with 3 different people doing the paperwork, and the whole time getting the impression they were doing us a huge favor. I will only use Reed's because if it takes more than 10-15 minutes, is because they are truly busy with lots of people. They also are gun guys who do the paperwork and are nice about it.

$800 is not that much. At least not briefcase-handcuffed-to-my-wrist much.
I was doing it to prove a point. No transaction in a gun store should take that much time. Especially if you walk in knowing exactly what you want. I actually had no intention of buying the pistol from them because of their time wasting bureaucracy. I was making a point. They wasted a lot of my time for a simple PPT so I wasted a little of theirs and showed them what it cost them. I once spent an hour waiting to do a PPT at Bullseye in San Rafael. The buyer suggested we move up the road a bit and we went to Marin County Arms. We walked in, the guy put down his lunch, and we were out of there in 10 mins. There are good places to go and bad places to go. Then there's Target Masters.....

No, no, no. You forgot. We OWE FFL's for performing this great service to us. We do not understand the great amount of intellect and skilled labor required to complete a couple of forms in a timely fashion. Only someone who suffers the great injustice of owning a gun store could understand the heavy burden that is performing PPT's.

I used them once to do a transfer and would completely agree. It seems they almost took pleasure in making the process as hard and complicated as possible.

They act like all other guns are doing paperwork incorrectly and they are the only ones who really know what they are doing.

                      What is "planting them around"?

Do they bury them and water them hoping they will grow into a gun plant?

I want to be the troll here. Ive had nothing but good luck with TM. Yes a couple of the employees are loud mouth, know it all douche types, but ive never dealt with them (only had to listen to their incessant ramblings from afar). I will say that their ppt ppw takes foooooorrrrreeeeeevvvveeeeeeerrr. I have only been mildly upset there once and it was because they took a customer doing a handgun purchase (buying new from them) before me....and i was there first. I was told, "you'll have to wait because he's buying a new gun". That was BS. I was put on the back burner because i was doing a ppt.
To me this wasnt a big deal as the person I was there doing the PPT with was very fun to talk to.

Tm has good prices for guns though, as lgs goes and their range is cheap.

I spent two hours trying to ppt because some"new buyers" kept preempting the person workin with us! We had five different employees.

They pointed their weapon behind the lines? Or sideways and someone behind you saw it? Just wondering as your view is blocked by the dividers...

Was fine when I went but it was off-peak hours when half the lanes are empty.

Targetmasters is run by a bunch of dumb hacks who kow tow to politicians in Sactown. They take down all your personal info for even a bottle of CLP.
