I love a 1911, but in any other state I would take the ammo capacity of the Glock, and in California I would still take the Glock because I could have a light on the rail(I know some 1911's have them, but those are generally a lot more expensive).

Also I would take the Glock because it's just a Glock, guns like 1911's I get attached to(mostly because I work on them myself and do a lot of modifications, so each one is somewhat personalized) and I would be upset when it was taken if I had to use it, a glock I would just buy another glock.

Either one will work but a glock has a rail and it's trigger might be less prone to accidental pulls. Also, larger magazines and no safety which could be an issue.

Personally I think a sig is the best bet as it also is double action and has a fat better trigger than a glock and less muzzle flip generally. But anything will work, it all depends on what you shoot best and fastest with.

Neither. Don't care much for the ergos on the glock. With the 1911 I don't feel like losing a $1500 gun if I need to use it for SD purposes. If forced to choose one then 1911 since I have years of experience with it and mine's reliable.
