was (and then you admitted that you hadn't even shot it for the first time yet).... But I'm certain you can already handle your new Glock with the
best of them!

I'd bet good money that you have never held or shot an M&P.

In the other thread where SCE says that M&P's are unreliable I've asked him twice how many rounds he's put through M&P's and how many malfunctions he's had. I'm still waiting for an answer.

For that matter how many rounds has he put through his Glock. But I'm sure he's an expert in his own mind.

Thanks! I was planning on changing the trigger for competition use. I planning on getting it before it falls off the roaster!

Why limit yourself to the roster? Consider SSE'ing a Pro while you still can... I've switched from my G34.
When shooting competitively, the cost of your gun is cheap compared to the expense of ammo.

Some people don't care for the trigger. It never bothered me. With that said, I did upgrade one of mine with Apex, and it is better.

Since this is the S&W M&P thread... Maybe you guys could help me out. I recently purchased the M&P9c for my wife and the slide release button is incredibly difficult to push in, order to rack a round. Is this common? Does it break-in with time? Does it get better, or is it acting up some how and worth a trip back to the LGS?

Completely normal, it will get better after with break which doesn't take much at all. In less than 500 rounds it will be much less stiff.

I hope you meant "DOWN" it's not a button you push in, it's a lever you push down on. I think most people recommend pulling the slide when changing mags instead of using the lever anyways. On my shield it has gotten a lot easier after a few hundred rounds

I would recommend racking the slide manually as well.

It should be quite a bit easier to drop the slide after a couple hundred rounds are run through it. I prefer just manually raking the slide but the stiff springs can also make that difficult.

We have 40's, 9's and 22's. Depending on your intended usage I'd get a 40 cal to give you the option of putting in a 9mm barrel (this would be by way of SSE). Of course if you're going to shoot IDPA SSP you would need to stick with the 40 - recoil is pretty minimal. Which ever way you go you definitely want one with the latest slide lock assembly unless you're going Apex. I have both CA and non-CA 40's, only one with the latest slide lock component. After putting DCAEK in both I can't tell the different, but prior to the upgrade the triggers were significantly different.

I love my M&P9 FS. Have had 1 ammo related malfunction (improperly resized reload) out of over 1000 rounds fired. I tried the apex poly trigger on mine and did not like it at all. The more I shoot it the more I like the stock trigger. It shoots accurately and I would trust my life with it.
