Because it was on the list before the requirement was put into law. Go check the DOJ roster website, they'll cite the law and when it was put into law. Guns on the roster before the laws passed were not required to implement the new "safety" features. Guns that wanted to get on the list after the new laws were in place had to have the safety features.Last edited by The SoCal Gunner; 09-16-2008, 10:56 PM.Comment

??? Doesn't sound negative, just sounds like poor grammar.
Will we be seeing any new Springfields in CA? Not likely. But they have bent over backward for us thus far, and continue to be polite and do their best to get us the ones that are legal. Let's not slit their throats too quickly just because they didn't want to re-design the XD-M completely.

I haven't tried an M&P but I have owned XDs before so I'm at least familiar with the trigger. Have you compared the ergonomics between the M&P and the XDm?
Thing I don't like about the M&P is the mag disconnect and I actually prefer the looks on the XD and the XDm. Now that the XDm has changeable backstraps, the M&P doesn't have that advantage anymore. But of course no XDm in CA.Comment

I got to play it a little at the Reno big show. I have to say, if you're used to the XD, this is very much the refined version. feels great to the grip, balances great. No idea how it shoots. but given the XD's track record, Im sure it's really good. Alas we must keep waiting.Tac Comm and Ammo for the SF Eastbay area: http://www.slgears.com/
