    Springfield XD(m)

Has anyone shot or even held the new Springfield XD(m). Ive seen this gun in the recent American Rifleman magazine. It looks like a great gun. If anyone has any info on it, please share. The website just doesn't do justice when you want to be touchy feely with something you want to buy.

We have done several of them and they come out very nice. Stock, the trigger is a little better then the standard XD and they respond to the same kind of tuning. It is pretty straight forward getting a very short, very light trigger on them. Much better then you can get on the Glock. The grip on the XDM, I think, is a lot better then the standard XD. I have smaller hands and the ability to put the small back strap on the XDM gives it a very Browning Hi Power feel to it. You can recontour the Standard XD grip but the XDM is much nicer.

This one has about 8000 rounds thru it and is still going strong, with zero failures of any kind.

Had a dude come in and ask for one and when I told him it wasn't on the list he was sad lol. I'd rather have the HK P30, which is also not approved, over the XD-M.

I fondeled one at an out of state dealer, I did not shoot it. It felt like a slimmer XD. It was nice, but not worth the price compared to the other guns in the price range. The XDm's are a lot more expensive then the standard XD, $650 for blue and $700 for stainless. You could have an H&K for $100 more.

Here is what Springfield told me if the xd was going to be available in California.

                    Hello MY name,

The XD(m) is not legal in CA. Please check the California DOJ to see which pistols are legal in that state. We do not foresee CA excepting ANY new pistols to that state in the future.

Thank you and have a great day!

Pistol has to have a feature when the magazine is not fully seated, the gun will not fire.

It's one of those required 'safety' features. Like the Loaded Chamber Indicator.

I held one out of state. Really liked it, damn I hate this state.

Well then! Certainly sounds like a negative statement. Almost implies we're different from other fellow Americans. Quite the friendly customer service they have their at Springfield.
