Which to keep? All purpose handgun query

If you can only have one gun, what would it be? This question came up a lot on this forum and the majority of the answers were the Glock. I would keep the least expensive one, the Glock, and sell the other valuable ones. the Glock is cheap but it can fulfill your above criteria easily.

Sorry. This one is simple. The Smith if you want reliable for years to come without worry of maintenance of recoil and mag springs.

A 1911 or........isn't worth anything if it don't shoot when you need it to.

I hear financial issues, so I would look at 40sw/9mm...but do I have to vote Glock becasue I have a 1911 bias .

I vote for keeping the 620. Probably the hardest one to replace among all 3. First to go would be the Glock together with all its accessories.

1911 although the glock fo-tay is good for learning how to shoot with a flinch

As much as I like a 1911, if I could only keep one gun it would be the revolver. It will never let you down.

Ridiculous. Springs are fine if your aren't using them. If you are, you have to clean the gun anyway. Replacing the springs takes an extra few seconds.

Specific models:

1. 1911 is Colt XSE Government Model.
2. Glock Fotay is a G22, I have a LW 40-9 conversion barrel so I effectively also have a G17
3. Smith is a 4" Model 620. This is basically a half-lug version of a 686.

In the situation you described I'd keep the one that you would get the least amount of money for. From your list I think it's the Glock. Ammo is valuable too so depending on how hard up you are sell that too. Heck sell the conversion barrel. Keep just the 40 cal. gun & ammo.

I'm guessing the Colt is maybe $900-$1,000 and the Smith is $700ish.

Later when you have the means buy once again.
