    .45 CCW recommendations

I currently carry a 9mm shield which I love and is very easy to carry without buying new shirts a size too big. I would however like to have something with more punch and since I sold my TRP a while back but still have plenty of ammo would prefer to go 45. I really like the Xds but not sure where I could sse one as my local shop did not have the parts. I'm not much of a glock fan but for the price id consider a 30 or 36. As much as I live 1911's and the 220 carry I rally don't want to spend that much for an edc. If anyone with a slim build could chime in with some suggestions id appreciate it, thx!

I have a 30. Its pretty fat. If you have small hands it might be tough to get a good grip on. If you were local, or plan on visiting OC anytime soon, I'd be happy to let you try mine out. Its tough to argue against it, 10+1 .45ACP in such a relatively small package.

I wasn't a Glock fanboy either, but if I want something to work, ALL the time, like one would except from a carry piece, then can't go wrong with a Glock.

During a class I took with SMG Lee, he mentioned that Larry Vicker's said the 1911 is the BEST CQB gun but at the same time it is the gun most prone to malfunctions.

You don't really have too many options on the roster. In addition to your (very) short list, you may consider Kahr. Cheap, American breed. Also RIA1911 is in the same price range.

30sf if a bit better, but the grip is not very comfy anyway.

          30s with a 9 round mag.
I find the slimmer slide makes a huge difference in concealment.

In addition to the G30S, consider the line of .45 ACP pistols by Kahr.

Thabks for the speedy feedback. I'm fine with doing an sse but even those are limited based on parts and stores, still any known sse options that fit that bill of open to.

Dude, you couldn't have a better situation if you are in Lincoln. Call Rick at Placer Tactical, he has two XDS .45 bi-tone in stock and could order you an all black one.

No charge for SSE, go get one!

A G36 seems like a good option to me.

On the higher end, Riflegear still has the Dan Wesson ECO. OC Armory will do the SSE. Just a thought...

+1 on the ECO, or even the CCO.

Try out HK45c even if it's out of your budget or not exactly what you're looking for. It's a very soft shooter and feels both thin and light.
