A learned person wouldn't tell someone not to load .40 if they thought that someone didn't have the diligence to make .40 safely?

      That was not the statement.

The statement was "stay the hell away from .40"

I'm sure there are polymer AR guys (on here) that would love that pistol! Like the one guy said about his destroyed buffer tower "it's not that bad"
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

wow I expected to get flamed for the statement about .40 but didn't see the discussion about my use of learned coming...

as for the statement about .40 - I know that it can be loaded safely & know that there are many people that are competent enough to do so... I just see a lot of new people that believe in .40 wholeheartedly and want to learn to reload starting with .40. IMHO it is a recipe for disaster, I firmly believe that people should learn and be competent with the basics, by starting with something that is much more forgiving, 9 or 45 hell even 38 spl, before rushing in to .40

A learned person wouldn't state that a pressure curve is a characteristic of a given cartridge...

              But that's the problem:

The 9 and 45 are not anymore forgiving. The same mistake that will KB a 40 will KB a 9 or 45. If you don't believe me, double load them and pull the trigger. Or load the same fast powder under a heavy bullet under no case tension.

If you want a round that is stupid proof it doesn't exist .

It's funny every glock I've ever seen go kaboom had a kkm barrel and was also shooting reloads.

Now I don't doubt that the reloads were responsible just a strange coincidence
