And that their past guns (S2000 and S3000) from what I understand were mostly full size as well. Right now the only thing I can think of is that it's possible that maybe some police depts somewhere purchased a bunch of compact size pistols and it skewed the market data they had. Or they looked at G19 vs G17 sales and thought - let's go G19 size.

At the same time, I have to admit my bias in saying that I have never been as big of a fan of compact pistols. Almost all of the pistols I want/have are full size. A very few subcompacts or close to subcompact sized pistols thrown in the mix. Only 1 or 2 of my wants fall under the compact category.

Really good points, penguinofsleep. Of course, Tim works for Kriss and Kriss is importing the Sphinx pistols. I assume manufacturing decisions are made in Switzerland. Like you said, maybe Sphinx felt the overall "demand" was greater for compact pistols and that's what they geared their "supply" for. In any event, I'm glad a lot of us got a chance to shoot and own a Sphinx.

I wonder how much exposure the gun would have received if Tim hadn't come out to those Calguns shoots....

I wish the Sphinx got more exposure (like the VP9 & Sig P320) so that there would be more holster options for it. Right now it's G-Code - Incog, Bravo Concealment, and a couple others. I've gotten Mytch at Kriss to send a T&E to Milt Sparks, so I've got a VM2 coming whenever they get that T&E. I wish that CrossBreed, or one of the hybrid holster makers would make one for the Sphinx.

My Sphinx is now on my ccw, and my only holster is the G-Code Incog...wish I had more choices...

For what it's worth I wouldn't worry about these details since Cajun Gun Works has a Sphinx spring kit in the plans and Sphinx has some mods in the plans as well. Get the gun now and don't regret it later.
I'm just wondering what to get while the 10day clock is ticking down.

This is my own $0.02, which may be worth less than that.

SDP may not be a fully ploy gun, but does it really matter? The CZ design's claim to fame is the full length frame over slide rail; and on the P07, CZ had only have small tabs embedded in the poly frame ala Glock. I don't believe that to be as tight a fit as the full length rail. SDP is 28.2 oz, the P07 is 27.2 oz, the Glock 19 is 23.6oz. So if P07 sacrificed the potential accuracy of the full length rail, I'm not seeing the weight savings.

Admittedly, I got a few spare tyres, but a gun the in the compact size disappears pretty well even with a 4 o'clock OWB. I shy away from subcompacts because the sight radius is just too small, and a full length / duty size gun has too long a barrel that makes sitting down an issue. To me, the compact sized makes sense.

I've always been a Sig man, and I was thinking long and hard about picking up a W German P228 as the final SSE, but went this route instead. The SDP is the gun I wish Sig made, instead of the P250/320/etc. The SP2022 is a great gun for the price and has comparable weight. But it feels gargantuan and has bumps in all the wrong places. Heck, even the P228 is a bit big. I really wish that the P250 had come with the DA/SA option, thou I understand why it is DAO. And the P320 is just derp; striker fired without the low bore axis of striker designs. I swear the Sig design team is smoking out like a Dutch ship.

With Peruta's 7 days counting, I'm definitely looking for a CCW holster. How do you like the Incog?

the Incog is "just ok" - I carry around the 4 oclock, and need it to cant so the grip doesn't stick out in the back, to cant it, you can only use 1 clip instead of both clips (both clips for appendix carry). With 1 clip, it's a little too much play for me. I prefer the double clip of the CrossBreed SuperTuck or the double loops on the Milt Sparks VM2. I wish CrossBreed will make it for the Sphinx.

My PPQ in a CrossBreed SuperTuck is my EDC anyways, but I'd like the option to be able to carry the Sphinx... maybe once I get the VM2.

I would imagine a $1000 dollar gun would be easier to sell as a full size but what do I know, I'm not a dealer and I have very little knowledge of the market. I feel like the full size gun would have shown off the strengths of the sphinx better than the compact model. I guess I'm just sour cuz I'm not gonna get a full size Sphinx by the end of SSE

Kriss/Sphinx will be missing the boat wrt Calif buyers when SSE is gone. Only Alphas(poly lower) and the new subcompact are available now. Countdown...only about month left for SSE.

Just checked the Sphinx website about warranty. Question: Will Kriss/Sphinx honor any warranty work for CALIF. buyers? Site says FFL needs to Sphinx authorized dealer....a little clarification before buying one. Thanks to all.

I think Gun Effects in City of Industry may still have a SAND. They did when I picked up my BLACK at the beginning of the NOV.

Buddy of mine snagged one of those subcompacts at OC Armory. With Picturepro getting one, there can't be more than two left. Just a month and a half left. Sigh.

No one is worried about warranty work for Calif buyers?

                          I'm not.

KRISS/Sphinx has an office in CA so I'm sure they got that worked out.

I told Sphinx to make some rear sights with a ledge so that it's possible to do one-handed manipulations.

Does anyone know if the extractor, extractor plunger, and extractor plunger spring are held in place by the firing position pin?
