I've never seen ammo for sale in Sacramento county. Yep, I just love this new tactic of banning all the ammo and giving stores a hard time for selling it. There are less than 10 places to buy ammo in the city of Sacramento that I know of and there's only TWO places I know of that have remotely decent prices. Banning internet sales will DEVESTATE my bank account!

If they do end up banning internet/mail order ammo sales, I'm going to have to do some major stocking up everytime I go to vegas (i.e. have them sent to vegas then pick them up every time I go there.) Wow... that really blows.

I'm in Sac, I know of
2 walmarts (Fat F***s who block the isles and about 20 screaming children)
Big 5 (put a bandaid on your wallet)
IWE sports (small fishing and gun shop, but have a bit of this and that for guns and are friendly)
Guns-n-stuff (A small shop but good service)
        Badger John's Huntin' Stuff (eh..)
Great Outdoors (I got banned from this place )
River City Gun Exchange (Knowlegeble people, bit far, not a friendly town, watch your back)
        Wild Sports (friendly people)

The WalMart off the Mountain Ave exit of the 210 freeway carries ammo. They have Winchester White Box in 9mm, 40 and 45. The only stuff I buy from them is the 9mm at $11.98 for 100 rounds.

I know this is true; nevertheless I have begun to stockpile ammo. Every few days I go in and buy several hundred rounds in most of the calibers that I own.

A few months ago someone said they were pulling ammo out of all non top 10% walmarts or something. Went to the pittsberg walmart they had some; I know walmart in stockton carries it also.

I reload, but try to get a couple of the bulk boxes of .22 lr every visit. I hit the one in Azusa.

I was at Union City Walmart at around 3:30pm 3/23/06 . . . when I went to the kiosk, there were 2 employees pulling all of the ammunition off the shelf. I asked if I could buy some 9mm and .45, and they said they do not have any in stock. I kindly informed them that there is an entire shopping cart full of it they were loading right in front of me, and they said they were doing inventory. . . seemed legit as they had clipboards and were counting items.

I asked if they were no longer selling ammunition, and they said it would be available after they were done with inventory. The people were quite rude, but they were never really all that nice (that is IF you can find someone to help). Hope they actually are just doing inventory and are not dis-continuing ammo sales. I stuck around the store for about 1/2 hour and returned to the kiosk to find no ammo on the shelves and no employees. I don't want to go starting crazy rumors, so if someone can check back in at Union City tomorrow and post info, that would be great. I'll personally check back at Union City again in 10 days and post findings if someone else doesn't get the info here sooner.

If it is the case, this will be the thing that pushes me to get a Dillon and start loading.

I have been to Walmart in Natomas Market Place(Sac Co.) several times within the last few weeks and they had ammo.

BTW crazy shooting there the other afternoon eh?...LEO on the hood of a suspects vehicle unloading into the windshield, killing the suspect.

Seems to be area specific, the Wally Worlds up here in the far North State are normally well-stocked and quick to re-supply. I usually spend around $50 per visit on ammo, mostly cheap UMC .223, WWB 9mm and 45ACP.

Good idea since the cost of fuel will eventually be passed on to ammo. Besides, ammo is easy to store and makes a great conversation piece for when your liberal friends drop in to discuss world peace.....

I have one, did have two but she decided association with a gun nut was not politically correct.

                              I have liberal friends,

A few of them have even turned into liberal gun-owning liberal friends . . . it's the best thing we can do because friends put a certain amount of weight in what we say to each other. And at the least, they know of 1 gun owner who's not a whack job who's going to go on a killing spree. They feel safe taking their kids to my house because I take reasonable storage precautions.

I hope to make more liberal friends. We're in a bad demographic situation in this state, but I have to believe that turning people one by one makes a difference.

I'm not so sure its a good idea letting liberals know what you have. They would sell you out real quick if things went sour. Of course if you have nothing to hide, by all means assemble those OLL right in their faces.
