I believe the extortion fee is $ 200 and actually anybody can pay it for cz.

Of course it would be up to cz to decide to still make and ship the CA 0 models.

IIRC only the manufacturer or an importer can pay the fee.

Personally, I'd bite the bullet and bring one in SSE while you can. Yes, CZ probably will renew....unless of course they make any modifications to the model in which case they have to re-apply not renew and with the gun banning micro-stamping rule that ain't going to happen.

We all have to decide for ourselves. Me, I grabbed a used one over the weekend at the LGS. It was very clean and looked like it hasn't been fired much.

I contend I overpaid, but I still bought it. It's not like I signed up for a mortgage I can't afford or locked myself into some other recurring bill. It was a one time thing and my desire to get it while I could outweighed whether I could have found one a bit cheaper. Finding any CZ in San Diego is a challenge and they disappear off the shelves fast. YMMV.

^^^ This is true. I paid an arm amd a leg plus some to get one after waiting for 6+ months. Some have waited longer and/or are still waiting. It all depends on the buyer.
