I'd love to get one of these. Probably take out a disorderly mosquito at best but easy to conceal

A .460 would be my choice. You have the full power .460 rounds for dangerous game and general enjoyment of having a hand cannon. There's always .454 Casull and .45 LC when you just want to plink with some cheaper ammo. I really like the option of 3 calibers in one gun. My buddy just picked one up and I got to shoot it yesterday and all I tried was .460 rounds, it's no joke. His 8 3/4 barrel is surprisingly accurate. Even the .454 Casulls are pretty strong, only thing we didn't try is .45 LC.

As close to being impractical as you can get, with some practicality lol.

How about an HK legacy pistol such as a vp70z or a p9s. You'll have to hunt for one in state, but they'll retain and probably appreciate in value, and you can shoot them occasionally and show your buddies.
So far, with all the other recommendations, I'm in the DE camp.

It's a good gut buster with a magnum round.

Mine key holes with cci mini mags . Cool little piece of engineering, but woefully inaccurate. Still not for sale though.

I kick myself every time a thread like this comes up. My brother needed money quick as in same day. He went to Martin B Redding to sell DE .50 and 44 mag conversion barrel and mags, they said $300, at first he said no, but he need the cash so he took it. They said no one will buy it and they will sit on this gun for months and months and won't make money on it. Bet your *** they put a $1200 price tag on it the next day. I could have pistol whipped him for not telling me he was going to sell it that cheap. I would have gave him 7-800 bucks for it.

DE's are notorious for having lots of issues.
The only issue is the person not knowing how to shoot. I've had mine for 12 years I have yet to have an issue with it. Some of my friends limp wrist it which causes problems.

There is nothing impractical about that. A quality .357 is probably one of the most practical choices you can make.

M/N pistols exsits. The obrez exists.

But the pic you posted is a photoshop. It originated on a gunboards thread years back as a joke.

This is one the reasons that S&W gave for designing an 8 shot .357 with the ability to mount optics, lights and/or a laser.

                                I wouldn't feel outgunned with 8 shots of .357.

I have heard this, but I haven't seen any hard proof that SWAT teams actually do this.

I love revolvers and own several. Just don't think this is that great of an idea. Shooting a 357 one-handed would be a bit unwieldy if you ask me.. maybe if they put 38+p in it.. Cant really do fast double taps with 357 with one hand..
