I'm always amazed at how many people knock some of the best guns out there. I used to shoot the original Desert Eagle back in the '80s, and it was flawless. Now, I've got some Mark XIX guns, and they also shoot perfectly. Ultra accurate, and no sketchy behavior at all (other than a minor issue I had when I installed Hogue grips on one and the 'hook' on the inside of the grip made mag release not so smooth).
The Desert Eagle is, in my humble opinion, one of the least practical but most fun guns out there. As long as you don't load it with underpowered ammo, it'll be one of the most reliable, too.
