Just a side note...the Midway bag is a knockoff of the Shooters Connection bag. The Midway bag is probably the best Value for Money option out there. But with that said, the Shooters Connection bag is a hell of a bag. I picked mine up for $100. Looks like they've raised the prices since then to $119. That's still a really good price for this bag. Talk about overbuilt. And if you can find it on sale, even better. They also make a smaller version of this bag...which I really want.

Range bag... Help

Oh yeah, some people use tool bags o hard tool boxes.
I had a hard tool-box like range box. It opened half and half and had a plastic cover on the lid side (ie' like a clam, so you can put stuff in the lid).
It's a good box for bringing rifle supplies along with your rifle bag, but for pistols it didn't have enough space due to the split designt. A normal large tool box would have worked.==================

Check out this toolbag as a range bag.
Or this one, it has built in wheels and a handle to use as a rolling bag

I just ordered one of these packs. Hopefully it will work out.You cannot beat the G.P.S. backpack. Easier to carry then a hand held range bag, has padded pistol compartments and plenty of room for ammo, ear/eye protection and anything else you need. Comes in black and tan.

I was thinking about the Handgunner version but think this one will be a better choice for now.GeorgeComment

This is exactly what I used the other day to go to the range. Pulled my discs out and loaded up the pistols. Made me smile when I saw your interestI've been thinking of re-purposing a disc golf bag with the shoulder harness to become a new range bag.
I bought one of the 5.11 range ready bags and it is just way too big for for me for range trips. Great for BLM when I need to carry more though. http://www.511tactical.com/range-ready-bag.htmlComment

What's the point of having "a bag within a bag" when the main bag is so small/the same size as the removable bag? It just seems like a waste to me. Or is the main bag really bigger and it just looks this way in the picture?Take a look at Voodoo Tactical Rang Bag. Currently on sale at Sportsman's Warehouse. Excellent Product.

I must have gotten a bum Midway bad. Mine's about a Test old and tearing at the seams.. Shoulder strap is splitting etc.
I'm trying to decide between the ishot, double alpha and shooters connection. I'll be getting a back pack style this time. The duffle is just a little much.

That sucks. Did you contact Midway about it? I'd do that at the least to see what they say about it.I must have gotten a bum Midway bad. Mine's about a Test old and tearing at the seams.. Shoulder strap is splitting etc.

I've had mine for 2+ years, and I've lugged it around to a few matches and regular range days. It's held up pretty well. It's the "olive drab" one if that makes any difference at all.
But I don't drag it around or toss it on the ground roughly.
The point of the "inner bag" is that you'd go to a match, open your range bag, put on all your holsters and mags and crap, then leave the big bag in your trunk or wherever and just bring the small inner bag along from stage to stage, with only ammo and a water bottle or whatever in it. Then you don't have to lug around the big bag which might have cleaning stuff and targets an the pistol rug, and other crap. However, I don't use it, I just use the big bag and lug it around... I recently bought a folding wagon to put it on to lug it around.
The GPS bag looks awesome too, I like the way the pistol bags come out!
I use the Midway "tactical Pistol Case" for my (pistol) gun rugs. And a triangular "rug" for revolvers
It holds your magazines, your pistol and has two other side compartments which are the exact size of a 100 round plastic ammo box (Or the exact size of a sandwich). I have one for each pistol and leave them in the safe that way so it bundles the mags with the pistol....grab and go!==================

Midway for sure. They have lots of options besides that one too.Midway USA's Competition Range Bag (when it's on sale).
Awesome bag, which is a clone of a very expensive compitition bag.
I got mine for $45 on sale I think. It is pretty big, comes with two "pistol rugs" (ie like gun envelopes), a used brass bag (it has a mesh on the bottom so dirt and stuff can fall out of it while you are picking up brass) and a seperate inner bag that you can take out of the outer bag. I guess you put ammo in that smaller one and cart it around instead of the larger outer bag so you can move from stage to stage during a match.
It is big, and it does have magazine holding loops in it.
Wow, I see they added some new colors too. It's $50 at the moment, which is a good deal. When I bought it they had black and "olive drab" and I picked the olive drab because you can't see much in a black bag, especially things like black magazines or whatnot. They have camo, brown and blue now nice! I wish mine were blue!Comment

This is what I use. Best $60 I ever spent. I only use this for pistols, eyes, ears, and ammo. For rifles, tools, and cleaning supplies I use the MTM Range Box as seen below.

I just ordered a couple of these after see this post. I was not aware they had the pockets... Guess I should have the watch video and I would have known...
I also ordered a couple of the Pro tactical bags. These will be nice grab and go last min rage runs.
I'll probably give the tactical bags to my buddy and his G/F or give them one of each and let them figure it out.GeorgeComment
