Range bag... Help

I bought a range bag from Cabelas mostly out of convenience since I was making an ammo order... It came in the mail today damaged, so I'm going to have to send it back which is totally okay since it feels cheap, looks extremely bulky, and doesn't have mag holders which is really annoying.

So does anyone have any good suggestions for range bags? I need to be able to fit 2-3 pistols, a decent amount of ammo, ear and eye protection, and maybe some more random crap since I'm a girl and I tend to tote things around that I don't need.

Awesome bag, which is a clone of a very expensive compitition bag.

I got mine for $45 on sale I think. It is pretty big, comes with two "pistol rugs" (ie like gun envelopes), a used brass bag (it has a mesh on the bottom so dirt and stuff can fall out of it while you are picking up brass) and a seperate inner bag that you can take out of the outer bag. I guess you put ammo in that smaller one and cart it around instead of the larger outer bag so you can move from stage to stage during a match.

It is big, and it does have magazine holding loops in it.

Wow, I see they added some new colors too. It's $50 at the moment, which is a good deal. When I bought it they had black and "olive drab" and I picked the olive drab because you can't see much in a black bag, especially things like black magazines or whatnot. They have camo, brown and blue now nice! I wish mine were blue!

Personally, I prefer to use individual "gun rug" cases like this:

so I can keep the mags with the gun, and just put the gun rug into another case or just toss it in the box in the back of the truck.

I bought a roll around type suitcase thing....like you'd have for a carryon if traveling by airplane. has plenty of compartments and is easy to handle. I usually take 6 pistols, ammo, ear protection, and lots of extras. got it inexpensive enough at Ross.

yeah, yeah, yeah, its not officially a range bag but if I want a logo I can put a calgun sticker or NRA sticker on it myself. it is black and passes my you don't know what I've got in here test.

I use a 5.11 Tactical Range Qualifier Bag to store my ammo, mags, targets, etc. My Pistols are put into small padded pistol cases and carried in a lock-able backpack.

Movie Zombie, I too used wheeled luggage bag for years. They work great. My last one broke a leg so now I'm using a large camera bag, sans wheels.

If I find another wheeled bag at a thrift store for a couple of bucks, then I'm "wheeled" again.

yes, pistols in padded pistol cases and I also lock my roll around bag. actually, I also lock the small padded pistol cases as well as the ammo is in the same bigger locked bag.

The Midway bags are best bang for the buck, pick the size that works for you, you can't go wrong. Well made, well laid out, it's obvious a shooter designed them.

eta: Kyle, I hope you find one soon! I don't know that i'll ever go back to an over the shoulder bag. too heavy for the amount of stuff I take.

when I go to the range I'm there for hours and I have the ammo to cart around as well.

when I get home I clean the guns and repack the bag so I'm ready to just walk out the door the next time.

way too organized, I know.........but, hey, it works for me.

The MidwayUSA bag works great for most shooters. I have been hauling one around for 5-6 years now, not babying it. All zippers have held up. No complaints.

I'm also using the midway back for about 3+ years, held up well. The black color gets a little dirty though if you ever take it to the desert, so maybe coyote or olive would be good.
