    Loading a new 9mm magazine

I'm new to the gun world. I'm trying to load my brand new 9mm magazines (Sig 2022) for the first time. I have 5 mags. Why is it so tough to load the mags? I'm not a weakling but I'm struggling bigtime after 5 bullets and can only get to 7 or 8 bullets. I'm unable to load 10 bullets and my fingers (raw), hands and forearm are dying.

Get a lula loader. It'll make it much easier.

New magazines suck to load. Period.

      Get yourself one of these:

You get better with practice, and the new mags will loosen up a bit. You can get one of those speed loaders that push down the prior round to make it easier, but I think they are unnecessary if you get hand loading down.

          +127 on the Uplula

Even after your mags get broken in, you'll appreciate having the Uplula after stuffing 300-400 rounds in mags during a days shooting. I like mine so much I bought a spare

Has anyone mentioned getting an Up-Lula? Best $19.95 I've spent.

Don't look for that price anywhere. I'm old and been doing this for a while.

Also, load them up and let them sit that way for a couple of days.

I dont think keeping them loaded will help looses them...repetetive use will loosen the spring...the constant pressure and release by the rounds will help them loosen so just use th.em.
. Or try placing the mag on a flat surface and loading instead of doin it near your chest/belly...

Uplula makes life easier. Also, expect new mags do be stiff and don't be surprised if you're not able to load the 10th. In time, the spring will loose its full strength and you'll be able to put all 10 in.

No, a speed loader isn't really necessary, but it sure makes things far, far easier.

Man, I wish I had invented that Uplula. It's gotta be about the most popular accessory ever. Never a thread about anything having to do with loading mags where Uplula isn't brought up 20 times.

You said it! It's a pretty amazing gizmo. It's not the only speedloader out there but it's the one I prefer. I use it for my Sig, Beretta, and S&Ws.

The only mags I don't use it on are my 1911 mags. The fat rounds and single stack are easy enough to load by thumb. The single stack mags need an adapter to prevent them from wobbling.

Load it to capacity and stick it on the shelf for a week. This helped with loading my 9-round G30 mag, which nearly took a c-clamp to get the last round into!
