I am having issues with my Ruger SR9c. Whenever I rack the slide to start shooting, it tends to jam and catches the cartridge and doesn't chamber it properly. I was told that it was normal at first, but then it would get better with the breaking in period. I am now at 800 rds or so and it still does the same thing. I even tried polishing the feed ramp and it did help a bit, but it still jams whenever I rack the slide on the first three rounds. Any suggestions on what could be the problem.

Is it only when you are racking?

And I have to ask, are you riding the slide, or are you pulling it back all the way, and releasing it and letting it close on its own power.

I rack it back all the way, but it still gets jammed.

Try some gun grease. Like tetra gun grease. I use that on all my guns and they run reliably.

Usually very quick turn around. They had my SR45 back to me in 1.5 weeks, on their dime.

Sorry to hear about problems with SR9c.
I have had mine for about 2 years now, flawless.
I think it is an outstanding pistol, hope you get your's taken care of.
