Bought an XDS 9mm Bitone

I have 18days until I can start my dros on one, I'm getting the bi-tone 3.3 too

... I wanted a shield at first but I held a Xds & liked it more , plus it comes with nice fiber sights, so it worth the extra $100

Sweet, DROS'g an XDm 5.25 in 11 more days, then another XDs (in 9mm) after 30 day wait.

Saw your post about the .45 ACP ammo. All my XD's (9mm, 40 S&W & 45s) all handle any ammo that I have pushed through them. I use pretty much any factory and reload my own. Not too thrilled about using reload from someone else. I have shot LAX AMMO reload and many of my friends use it all the time.

WWB is a little dirty but since I have been using FrogLube, everything cleans up real nice.

I'm going to be the black sheep and say that I do not like the checkering on the XDm/s. Way too agressive to shoot. Even SA's 1911s. I can't even go through a 100 rounds shooting a SA 1911. But that's just me...a black sheep.

Yeah not so concerned with the XDs as much as i am with the other 2 guns..

i use FL as well, and the guns seem to clean up fairly nicely... i still use hoppes in the bore, to get them nice and shiny

i hear ya... i got a Pachmayr grip glove and will test with/without it, as well as pearce grip extensions....

i kind of like the simplicity of the stock config, vs. all the add-ons



ETA: That little Pearce grip extension prints like a MOFO! I tried it out and it was crazy. I guess I'll have to figure it out before San Diego gets CCW

Its not to bad. I have an XD40 Sub Compact that I have been carrying for some time with a Pearce grip. You might just have to adjust the depth of the gun on your holster.

So I picked up my gun today. For some reason I did not notice how much harder the trigger pull is compared to my other XDs. Not only much harder but "gritty" for lack of a better word. Thought it almost felt like the trigger is grinding on something. Field striped and lubed it but trigger still "gritty" feeling.

I have yet to fire it so hopfully it will get better. As of now NOT a happy buyer yet.

Anyone else have this issue on their 9mm post recall. I've read the post recall fix makes the trigger much heavier than before.

i took 1200grit to the sear and mines smooth as butter.... did this hours afyer picking it up so i dont remember what it was like beforehand

I just picked up my XDs 9mm as well and the trigger is a little mushy/spongy as it gets ready to break. I prefer my Glock triggers which is a clean break after the initial slack take up. The XDs has a heavy trigger pull after the initial slack, it then has a mushy/spongy pull until it breaks. I don't experience any grittiness like the OP mentioned.

Edit: I do notice that the trigger has been getting better with some dry fire with a snap cap. It might just need a little breaking in. It's not horrible but I like my Glock 26 trigger better. Maybe it will get there after a couple of hundred rounds

UPDATE:
Well my son and I were at Reed's today for the first outing with the XDS.

I take back all the whining. The gun is a please to shoot. Very accurate for a compact. U was shooting federal 124gr that cycled flawlessly. Very manageable recoil.

My only gripe and it's a small one is loading the small single stack 7 round mags is a bit tough by hand.

It's a keeper for sure.

same with the 5rd .45 mags. I use my single stack loader (HKS) which also works for 1911s and P220s...

i think they only run about $12-13
