$300 is a good price for a very entry level 1911.

Another happy RIA tactical owner right here! Goes bang every time the trigger is pulled, and shoots better than I can. What more is there to want?
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

I just recently got a RIA Tactical and I love it. No problems at all other than I detail stripped it and couldn't get it back together without help. Doh!

~$300 for a RIA GI that was well taken care of with that low round count is a GREAT price. Very solid platform all the way around with an excellent warranty. You simply can't go wrong at that price.

Nice!!.......make sure you pick up some chip McCormick power magazines, Stock mags suck from RIA. Also an easy mod, swap out the stock recoil spring to an aftermarket 18.5#.

With the mags and the spring my RIA eats everything including hollow points.

Got the TAC officers model a few years ago and love it. Plan on putting it on the CCW soon. Funny how all complain about the std mag, as it's the only one never to give me problems. The Colt mag (and only 6 rounds) won't hold the slide after last round and the Chip Mc Cormick mags came apart !! I did replace the slide lock with a colt one for better fit and feel.

My first RIA 1911 had an issue with hammer fall when the slide was released. It was sent back for inspection on Armscor's dime. I was told the gun had to be replaced and a new one was sent to my FFL. I did have to pay for another DROS + FFL fee, so my cheap 1911 wasn't as good of a deal as I thought. I did ask them to pay for the DROS, they declined and sent me 2 boxes of ammo instead. The new 1911 has had 50 rounds fired with no problems, but I doubt if I'll buy another RIA. Ymmv

so, they fixed the problem by replacing with a brand new gun. then they wouldn't pay the DROS but sent you two boxes of ammo instead. the new gun functions with no problems. why the doubt?
