RIA 1911 basic model any good ?

Just curious if some here owns or has had experience the starter model. I tried one out a few months ago and it seemed fine to me. They are an economy price point , is there good , bad or ugly with these. I have a chance to buy one very clean and taken care of with less than 500 rounds down the pipe for $300- with box and papers ect. I am not a competition shooter so that will not be an issue. Thanks
Lead will be worth more than silver and gold when they are giving it away free !

I have an RIA (Tac) very similiar to what you are looking at.

RIA makes nice solid guns. I don't think you can go wrong with that purchase. They feed, shoot well. Isn't that all that counts?

Get good mags. CDNN has Chip McCoormicks for cheap.

It's the basic 1911 GI as designed by Saint Browning and made by Colt.

Great starting point and good to build on as you develop your knowledge of the 1911.

I have 2 and will be purchasing a third soon. You can't go wrong (if it's in good operating condition) for $300.00

Not a bad starter 1911. RIA has great customer service also.

RIA is good to go. For $300 that's a good price. I own the G. I. Model and it is a fun shooter. Great starting point to see if you like the platform. From my understanding the sights are a little harder to upgrade because they're a different dovetail size. I never bothered to upgrade them because I wanted it stock. I just went and bought a second 1911 with all the upgrades already installed from the factory.

I got the RIA GI Full Size. About 2500 rounds, FMJ and JHP. I had to replace the factory recoil spring after only 500 rounds. The Wolff RS keeps it at 100%. Good buy indeed

Yeah, I figured I would replace with a Wolf spring and the full length guide rod, I already have Colt 1911 in the Commander, so this will fill the GI full length void for me now. I knew these were not junk, I was just looking for other peoples experience.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
