Will these work with a 1911?

You can never tell. You "just got a 1911". Which 1911? Different brands/models will work with different magazines.
I'd suggest just buying one of those to see if it works.
Certain mags have a good reputation IN GENERAL, but still may not work in every 1911.==================

From your link:
Colt Style 1911 45ACP 7rd Magazine, Blued
I see no reason they won't work in a 1911 seeing as they are 1911 magazines.
The company; J&G Sales, is a great company to do business with.
They don't say who made these magazines so I can't give you any feed back on them.
Rule of thumb when it comes to magazine is usually that you get what you pay for.
Not always true with 1911 magazines. I have some old surplus magazines I bought in the mid eighties for like $3.50 that still work great today.
For the price of them you could try a couple and see how they work.
Good luck.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I'd just spend the money for quality magazines such as the Wilson Combat 47D.

And we have the inevitable Wilson Combat post. This is my opinion only...
Wilson is not the be all, end all magazine to buy for the 1911. Neither is Tripp. Or even CMC. It all depends on the gun. Some are more finicky than others. I have magazines from various manufactures, including CMC, Wilson, Mec-Gar, Novak, Checkmate, etc. I even have some $8 CMC knockoffs with the base pads that I got from CDNN some time back. And you know what? Every magazine I have from every manufacturer works in every 1911 I have except one. My DW Cbob doesn't like the CMC 10 rounders. They work in all the others, just not the DW. And how many mags do I have, you ask? I can load a case of .45ACP in all the mags and still have mags left over.
Buy a couple of the cheap mags. Try them out. If they work, buy more. Try other brands. What doesn't work in yours may work just fine in someone else's. Be bold. Venture forth and spend lightly.
Just my opinion.

It also apparently depends on your spring weight. I have a 22# in my 10mm 1911 and found that Tripp Research magazines don't work well. I think the mag spring is not pushing the round up fast enough to counter the closing of the slide and will trap the round vertically at times. "wtf" I was thinking at first. I bet if I went to a 20# or 19# spring it would work better in the end.

That's the problem with 1911s is all the variation amongst them. So some mags work well while others don't. I find 10rd mags to be the worst for relaibility. Maybe it's the spring pressure in the 10rd mag combined with the follower tilting but I get feeding issues with them. Any 7 or 8 rd mag works fine tho.It also apparently depends on your spring weight. I have a 22# in my 10mm 1911 and found that Tripp Research magazines don't work well. I've had very good results with CheckMate. I prefer the GI, but YYMV. Get decent magazines if this is for your SD piece. If a maker won't put their name on the product that should tell you something.
Top Gun Supply carries CheckMates, Wilson etc...FWIW I'm in the 7 round for reliability camp.Last edited by John Joseph; 03-28-2014, 3:06 PM.Comment

if you look on sarco they have mags for the 1911 that are I think about a dollar cheaper. And they actually work well, all 7 rounders I use them when doing courses cuz i dont care if they hit the ground, get a little sand, and dirt in themComment

i bought some of those cheap colt clones a long time ago to use as range mags to just throw around and not care, often times the feed ramp lip would pop over the mag catch in the gun and make it a pain in the butt to get them out. I got rid of them all and bought wilson combats. Have also had really good results with Chip McCormick shooting stars for about $10 more then those.Selling lots of Pistol brass, lots of 38 and 44 mag!
