I'll take a DA/SA over these Safe Action Systems any day. A DA trigger pull on the first round practically requires intent to fire. Of course there is no preventing negligence, but in the case of the Chief here, I would bet it wouldn't have happened to him with any DA/SA pistol.

do you fellows really think everyone toting a 1911 or other model with manual safety is just walking around with finger on trigger shouting "i dont need to practice gun safety, cause i got a safety!"...

im fine with carrying with no manual safety, i prefer one though...as do many out there, dont know why some choose to look at that preference as some sort of weakness but oh well to each their own
Donk310 prefers a manual safety as well. No skin off his back... .

The tool can only be as sharp as the person using it.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

You can remove the fake safety from the trigger and the drop safety will still function 100%.

No matter how you carry your handgun it needs to be in a holster.

The problem is no de-cocking mechanism. If the first trigger pull was DA, then this probably would not have happened.

In this case it was do it right or blame an inanimate object for being stupid.

Some people seriously think the answer to this mans complete and utter negligence to training and safety protocols is a manual safety or a DA first pull?

Not really, I know this happened to someone with a XDM. As he pushed the weapon into his holster it deactivated the grip safety. BOOM, luckily hole in the floor and not the leg.

That pic always amazes me. Looks like the holster has been worn out for years. I don't care how much of a favorite it is .. throw away old equipment like that.

                                Casual Reholster

If you watch the video, he places zero attention on holstering his Glock. Then like a dumbass, he starts jerking on his jacket instead of looking to ensure that it did not become snagged on his weapon or the holster. The incident evidences no more than his casual inattention to handling a firearm.
