Another vote for the 19. I've seen enough info on .40 to dissuade me from it.Comment

My first Glock was a 23 with a 9mm Lone Wolf conversion barrel. Sold both and bought a 19.
If you want to shoot .40, I would pick up a larger framed Glock or a steel framed handgun. YMMV.Comment

While you can get away with a G23 and a 9mm barrel (and mag, and possibly extractor and ejector), I'm just more comfortable using a gun that was specifically made to fire a caliber that it was intended for.
Plus, most of the time if you see people selling a G23 and G19 for the same price, the G19 will get sold much faster than the G23. Throw in the conversion barrel at the same price, and I still see the G19's selling faster. People still have the notion that 40-9 conversion are not reliable. While they can be, you still have that discrimination and it can effect the resale of the firearm if you ever decide to sell it.Comment

Lots of truth in this post^^Comment

Some of Lonewolf's early conversion barrels did need an extractor change sometimes, for reliability. Design change fixed the problem long ago. Any product that has some historical problem always has people who remember it. Just like some people still think 1911s are the greatest gun ever madeWhile you can get away with a G23 and a 9mm barrel (and mag, and possibly extractor and ejector), I'm just more comfortable using a gun that was specifically made to fire a caliber that it was intended for.

Sure, G19s sell faster than G23s .. a properly priced G23 will sell just fine. But people seldom buy Glocks as an investment
