^^ this works great. Depending on where you are you might not be able to carry it as a 9mm, but the option to shoot 9 at the range helps.

Think about a 23C. I found the 23 a bit snappy before I got my 23C. The porting makes it smoother than a 9mm.

Glock 19.

Cheaper ammo = more practice. Lighter ammo = can carry more if you ever have to bug out (if you're into that sort of thing). Common round = easier to find during zombie apocalypse.

The G19, you'll get accurate shots on target much faster then you will with the 23. Good 9X19 ammo is nothing to balk at. Personally I only like full size .40S&W pistols, I have a G22. Really get whatever floats you boat, I own some stuff just to own it. .380, .38's, .22's .357sig everything is fair game, get what you want, either will get the job done. You should go test both out if you haven't shot them.

Another vote for the G19. It was my first handgun a few years ago. Traded it for a 1911, went on and bought many other guns, but recently bought another G19 and I just love it.
