    Ruger sr22 in CA

I bought the sr22 in Georgia where I currently live but I am moving back to CA in a couple months. I know that they can not be purchased in California but am I allowed to own one? Will I be able to bring my already owned sr22 with me to California without an issue?

When you move to CA you can bring it with you.
The roster does not come into effect for this.

Just make sure it does not have a threaded barrel.

            Awesome
Will I need to take the Handgun Safety Course or is that only for when you purchase one there?

Handgun Safety Certificate is only needed when purchasing or receiving a transfer for a handgun. You don't have to have one nor renew or retest the HSC in order to possess a handgun.

HSC is basically a tax imposed by the state and a literacy test.

You should buy at least a dozen of them, in case yours ever needs parts, etc. Now once you get here, if you change your mind & decide to sell them...

+1 Pretend you need more SR22s and then once you get to CA "decide" you don't need them anymore. You'll make at least $150-200 each

I don't know what the magazine capacity on your SR22 is but if it's more than ten you'll need to bock them so they only hold ten.

I wouldnt stock up too much on them, they are not gonna fetch a big premium. Its still a rimfire.
