If you can't afford buying .45, sell 9mm.
40sw is an amazing caliber, since you get used to it. However, if you could keep all three calibers, that would be the best.

I added 45 in my collection. I have 9mm and .40 s&w prior to buying 45acp last month and very happy with them all together as a family. All different calibers but they're all from the same maker so that the mechanics are all the same.
Get the 45 and have fun!

Go with the 45 because you already have a 9 and a 40. Also, as others have mentioned, multiple calibers is usually a good thing; it's fun.

Get the .45. I would sell the .40 if I had to choose. Although .40 was the most available during a run on ammo.

Thanks for the input. Very true on the 40 was the only ammo available far awhile. If I do go 45 it more than likely be 1911 but maybe m&p SSE. We shall see.

357sig or 10mm, both outperform the sissy 45acp!

save money get a conversion barrel for your .40 and turn into .357 sig(if your pistol has conversion barrels available). Use extra money for ammo and extra mags.

Get the .45 and keep the .40 .... can't go wrong with having multiple calibers available at your finger tips.

because no one wanted it, but that is a good reason to have one

buy the 10mm then buy a 357 sig conversion barrel for your .40
