Need Night sights recommendation

I like Trijicons or TruGlo TFO (make sure you get the TFO, not the standard FO if you want night sights).

Lately Ive been leaning more with the TruGlos on my Glocks and Springfield due to the length of the sight bodies and they fill the slide up better (aesthetics)

I'm also shopping for sights so this has been an informative thread for me. Because I am looking at defense and range sights (not specifically limited to night sights), the TruGlo TFO seems to offer the best of both worlds. Fiber optics for day, tritium for night.

Prior to, I was (for the most part) set on Meprolights, but in the back of my mind I kept wondering if fiber optics would be better. Seems like TFOs lie in my future.

So no issues with TFOs. A quick search of the web suggested there may be some QC issues.

You guys do know there's only a few manufacturers of Tritium lamps. AFAIK Meprolight makes the lamps for all of the night sight manufacturers. The stuff is kinda hard to make, is toxic as hell, and is used to boost fission nuclear weapons into thermonuclear or fusion weapons.

I have a Glock 30SF for off duty and just switched from a S&W 4566 (dept issued) to a Glock 21SF for on duty. Looking for good night sights for both. Also I like tinkering on small gun projects and would this be something I could install myself? Thanks in advance.

What do the other officers in your department use for night sights? And what does the department armorer recommend? Personally I like Trijicon's the best, I think they have the smallest and brightest vials. You can install them yourself, a sight pusher for the rear is recommended. The other thing is Trijicon is basically a life time warranty, no matter what. I sent back a G21 rear that one bulb went dead on and it was 17 years old. They replaced it no questions.

I think its actually Trijicon that makes the lamps for just about everyone except for Meprolight.

I have Ameriglo iDot Pro's on all my pistols (I prefer the Lumi-Lime front sight). I just wish the rears were serrated.

One-handed operations with the Heinie Ledge Straight Eights is pretty easy. I also like the sharp sight picture the sights give you with the serrated surfaces. The dot-over-dot is better for me than three-dots. With either one, however, you should know that the vials are not always precisely aligned. You need to actually shoot them in low light to see how they align and where they print. It's usually slightly different than when you just use the top edge of the front sight.

+1 more for Truglo TFOs. Awesome in all lighting conditions and super easy to install.
