I love my Springfield 9mm. It's the one gun that always goes to the range. I also have a SA EMP 9mm nice little shooter but not a full time range gun. Be careful they can be addictive I shot mine for about 6 months and then sent it to the SA custom shop.

What do you like about the 1911 maybe one of us here can find something that mimics that particular aspect and it would cost less

Another option - RIA 1911 in 38 Super, and a 9mm barrel. Easy swap.
Just did this it works fine!

This will make you feel better about spending a grand on a gun.

Buy what you can afford. If 600 is your limit then find a quality pistol that works well for you, IF you have the ability to go up a bit then go for it. SSE opens up the field a bit and I would look at STI for value and quality.....1000-1600 will get a real nice pistol. But I love the G19 and you can find the Springer in 9mm under a grand online. Whatever you choose, practice, practice , practice

I just picked up the new ria tactical II fs chambered in 9mm from grabagun for around $520 then sse, dros and taxes at my local ffl..

its not on there website yet but its exactly the same looking as the tactical II 10mm or 45.acp one shown on there website but its chambered in 9mm...and it has the smaller logo!

the RIA 1911 9mm option sounds like the option im gonna go with. ive seen the RIA 38 supers at river city gun exchange but im psyched to hear that you can buy a 9mm barrel for it. im sure i can find the barrel switch online or something. the RIA is waaaaay more in my price range. SWEET! 9mm 1911 for me it is!

i dunno though...... my mom did say that i could get any handgun i wanted since it is my 21st bday o.o
i do feel bad making her drop a grand for my bday though... even if its my 21st.

Nice looking Springfield. Is that the Hard Chrome finish from the custom shop on your slide?

You wont be sorry! The 38 Super will give the major power, and 9mm will give you cheap shooting. The accessory barrels are available from RIA. I thinking about doing this myself only in a commander sized gun. I had a full sized one about 30 years ago. Now that I have arthritic wrists I'm missing the smooth shooting of a 9mm, and the ability to swap to the 38 for defensive use. DR

+1 on a sse RIA 1911 tac in 9mm. Accurate and reliable, great gun at a good price.
Be careful of the CZ75 family of pistols... try one and you could be hooked, especially one that had cgw or cz custom magic done to it
