So simple. You placed a distorted pistol casing on the table and took some photos. Thats it. Now send me my prize.Originally posted by beccibooWhy make it clear when there is an agency that can make up and enforce their own laws? Its one of those things where you need to make the personal decision as to whether you want to be right or free. Is it worth it to you?

Did you clamp the round in a vice, drive a 1/8" punch to the primer and watch the fireworks?
Or, scratch the punch, shoot it with a bb gun?Last edited by Gottmituns; 11-05-2013, 9:22 PM.Comment

Did you send an electromagnetic charge to the primer?Comment

Wow you guys are good!
The winner is anyone who suggested it was fired from a .40 cal. The super winner goes to the guys that knew it was an H&K USP (Nice work
scoobydo!)
Story goes we are out target shooting. I had my new .380 Diamondback to shoot, but the ammo was all Blazer steel case so it was easily identifiable. My buddy on the other hand had his Kel Tec .380 and was shooting brass. Somehow one of is rounds got in my box of .40cal. Both my .40 and the .380 were FMJ and the mag held the .380 in place just fine. That particular round was the last loaded in the mag as well, which I didn't even notice as I loaded it.
Popped the mag in, racked the slide, chambered the round, aimed.... fired and a very muffled pop with the round striking the dirt 15 ft in front of me or ~2.5ft low of where I was aiming. I go "What the...??" Quick glance at the gun and all appears normal, until I rack the slide back to check for a jam or blocked barrel and the casing falls out. We even examined it for a minute scratching out heads until I saw the .380 on the base.
The .380 didn't have enough ummph to get the slide back to clear the round, let alone chamber another. I am guessing the round just ping ponged on down the barrel out the end, hence the hitting the dirt so close I gather.
Guns fine, I guess live and learn. I have a cool souvenir now too.

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!Comment

I've seen it done with 9mm in .40S&W and .45ACP guns.
I've also seen it done with .40S&W in a .45ACP gun.
usually the casing splits, but the case pretty much looks like your example.
And yes, I have some idiot friends that have gotten their ammo/gun relationships mixed up from time to time.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

those 380 casings always confuse the crap out of me when i'm reloading my 9mm. Once I loaded about 2k I start to get tunnel vision and a 380 case pass by and messes up my progressive press session.sigpic

Here's what happened:
You loaded one of the spiked cartridges which the US Government snuck into the insurgency ammo cache!?
Lol...j/k
**** happens sometimes. Never commingle ammo...even accidentally. Keep containers away from one another and always mark your mags with a unique identifier so you can tell the caliber.
Have fun, be safe
