+1, last Sat. my friend's son shot some 44 mag out of a 45 long colt Ruger. I believe if it was not a Ruger, I would be showing pics of shrapnel wounds! The cases were split and bulged from mouth to rim. No harm to the pistol.

Somethin that would hit the primer like that would probably be a milsurp gun or a gun that has the hammer spring set for surplus ammo.
