It's not a match trigger, if you're going to compare it to a good 1911 trigger: you're going to be disappointed. HK's are meant for duty. Tough as nails, overbuilt....you'll see them in the holster of military and le world wide but rarely in competition. Mechanically, they're incredibly accurate but you have to do your part with the trigger. There are definitely much easier guns to shoot. I'm a huge HK fan but it took me a little while to get used to the triggers. LEM is now my favorite.

HK P30 question

Ahh, I see. I misunderstood, however, I must insist. You can convert a DA/SA P30 to LEM
That said, you're right about lack of modularity inasmuch as that doing so would deactivate the decocker and or safety, effectively making the pistol SAO, no safety. While that sounds fine to me, many pistols are like that, it would likely (almost surely) void HK warranty, along with whatever attendant dangers occur with unsupported modifications.
Update: --> Will void, is possible. Seems like buy the version you want, or go to Grays. Either case, fantastic pistolLast edited by SC_SD; 10-23-2013, 8:30 AM._____________Comment

Yes, actually the P series is NOT modular and the change from DA/SA to LEM works (i did mention this on Post #12), however, HK does not recommend this and will VOID the warranty, as you mentioned. However, you cannot go from LEM to DA/SA on the P series.
as for the HK45/USP series, trigger variants are modular and i believe HK is ok with consumers doing the conversions themselves. will still be Warranty...but i would at least check on HKPRO or HK CS.
BTW, nice shooting, OP. Glad you're startin' to like the HK

yes I was being a little tongue in cheek with the "yes you can --> link" but you are correct as stated. I misunderstood / missed post #12 / didn't know it was only DA/SA to LEM, figured it would go either way. I guess the problem is the frame is different on a V1 and V3 P30 but it can be done.

GGI worth every penny.
$365 (while a decent chunk of change) doesn't go very far when you start working with quality gunsmiths.WTS all BNIB: Colt S70 Repro, HK45c, Gen4 G19Comment

I had an HK45, HKP30L and P30 both in 9mm, and ended up selling them all, could not master the trigger in any of them, beautiful pistols, the best ergonomics in my opnion, but I was a terrible shooter with them, found my Glock 17 and 19 to have way better groups and follow up shots so those are the ones I kept for HD, and $3,500 out of my HK's sale in my pocket
With time for practice and more budget I am sure they are guns to fall in love with...But not me.Comment

I just picked up a P30L LEM not too long ago myself and love it. Its a great pistol that i have at home for home defense that my wife handles with no problem. Ended up getting rid of my sig p226 for it. I will agree that the SA of a sig p226 is way more accurate and the trigger is far superior. However, for the purpose of home defense and having a trigger that is consistent (no da/sa transition), this gun is plenty accurate. Recoil is next to nothing and follow up shots are quick to acquire. if i wanted a target pistol, i would go down the 1911 route but for HD/SD, this works. guess my only gripe in hindsight is that for a $1,000 pistol, tritium is not standard. i know its a german thing but still, once the pistols are here in the US, you would think for a $1,000 they would throw in some tritium sightsComment

Love that pistol, fits perfect in hand. I like the version better with NO safety.Comment
