HK P30 question

As a big HK pistol fan, I can say the trigger does take a little bit of getting used to. Some dry fire practice and general practice will do you wonders. Once you get down the feel for the trigger, their is no turning back. Lovely firearms."They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

I have an HK45 and a HK45C, both DA/SA/decocker.
I'm going to pick up a P30 light LEM in January I think and try it.
I have no problem with the DA/SA triggers on the HK45's, but funny enough I never warmed up to them on the USP's (I owned four or five USP's). I think the superior ergos of the HK45 make me appreciate the triggers better... the trigger is great for shooting under stress or with gloves. I love a light, crisp SAO trigger but not on my defensive weapons.Comment

i did'nt need time to get used to it. i loved the trigger from the beginning. i have the standard trigger though on my p30 and p30l."I'm not in this world to live up to your expectations and you're not in this world to live up to mine."

I was in the same boat as you. Big fan of Sigs, see my signature. However I've always wanted an HK. I've bought & sold the following because of the trigger, hoping each one will be different & make me like it enough to keep. (HK P2000 .40, HK USPc .40, HK USPf .45, HK45c). The trigger always felt "mushy" with a lot of pretravel, and the reset was hard to distinguish. I love my Sig triggers, especially with the SRT installed. I currently own the full size HK45, bought it thinking that SB374 was going to pass. I'll probably send it in for the $365 trigger work. http://grayguns.com/gunsmith-services/usp-hk45-p30/
I bought a Sig Elite that already had the Gray Guns work, and that trigger is awesome. I am a believer in the Gray Guns work. I'll prob send in the HK45 to get it done sometime next year, that way I can pay cash for it.

Family member has .40 P30 V3 and I love it ergonomically. Trigger, yes, does require getting used to.
To the above poster who said they aren't modular -- if you are referring to the grip that is incorrect, they come with 3 sizes of adjustable back and side widths. The ergos on the grip are among the finest of any pistol I've shot, the pointability of the firearm is superb.
I took a combat pistol course with it in AZ and after around 600 rounds I was hooked.

About Grays, I have heard really positive things, apparently it is the must-do upgrade. And yes, $365 is expensive on one hand, but then again not at all for a lifetime of quality HK enjoyment_____________Comment

I'm not refering to the grip. Modular as in changing out the Triggers/Variants, NOT the grip.Family member has .40 P30 V3 and I love it ergonomically. Trigger, yes, does require getting used to.

I own several HKs along with Brownings, Walthers, 1911, DA and SA revolvers, etc. Each has it's own trigger system---they're all different---I find that as a very experienced shooter, it really doesn't bother me---I adapt almost instantly. Yes, I own a P30S (DA/SA) 9mm---I've read what a terrible, horrible, virtually unusable trigger they have. On mine, the DA is very smooth---med light---the SA has a little take-up then very reasonable let-off---kinda like a two-stage trigger on a military rifle---works well for me. They aren't 1911 triggers (nothing else is either)---get used to it...Comment

Took her out again and think I'm in love. I'm gonna buy 5 more. I think the trigger and I are arriving at an agreement.
Nothing to write home about but here is a 10 yd group with minimal reacquire but by no means rapid.

And 25 yds
