        Wow, looks good! Congrats!

How different is this from the Half-Rail TRP Operator? And can you please post more pics? I'd like to see more, including the rollmarks. That's if you have the time.

        Congrats again!

From Hilton Yam on the specifics of the 10-8 operator:

          Gentlemen:
Thanks for the interest and kind words. I just wanted to respond here to directly answer the questions that have arisen.

The rear sights are manganese phosphate finished (Parkerized), and appear as a very dark gray. The lighting and contrast make the sight appear lighter in the photographs. Lamentably, I only shoot guns for a living, not cameras.

The pistols are NOT TRP's nor do they start as TRP's that get dressed up or reworked. They are scratch built pistols made especially for this limited run. The TRP is assembled out on the factory floor, while the 10-8 Operator and Professional are built by the gunsmiths in the Custom Shop. The 10-8 pistols start with NM serial prefix slides and frames that are hand matched for optimum fit. The magazine well on the 10-8 starts as a blank S&A unit that is machine checkered (vs. the standard cast checkering on the retail units), has the lanyard loop shortened and redrilled for a reduced profile, flush fit to the frame and drilled for the MSH pin hole, and then blended to the frame opening. This is the same installation method used on the Professional models, and is quite time consuming and labor intensive. The standard TRP has a 2 piece screw on mag well.

The 10-8 Operator has an upgrade tool steel sear with a 4-4.5 lb pull weight specified on the trigger job. Like the Professional model, the 10-8 uses an oversized gunsmith fit trigger unit. I inspected each gun from the first run, and their trigger jobs were comparable to those on the Professional models.

All other aspects of this gun reflect the high build quality to be expected from the Springfield Custom Shop. I am very pleased to be able to work with them on this project.

                Angeles? I love that range!

I might take you up on it. I have a free pass and can bring a guest for free, too. I just have to find some time as work has been very demanding lately. I will find time sometime this month and PM you.

Enjoy it and let us know how it shoots in the meantime. When's the pick up date?
