Haha thanks. If you look at the areas I circled on your Guncrafter 1911 and go back to your original picture, you'll see that the vertical lines on the checkering aren't uniform, i.e. some are shorter/longer than the others. Pay particular attention to the area I circled towards the top of the front strap.

The grip safety isn't streamlined (uniform/matched with the frame when it's in its nonactive position). This is probably due to the choice of grip safety, since many grip safeties on the market do not come with enough material to remove for a tight fit to the frame. I would recommend an EGW grip safety.

The front strap isn't raised/hi-cut like it is on the Wilson's CQB (this modification affords a higher, arguably, more aggressive grip). One good way to examine this visually is to see whether the trigger guard and the front strap almost form a right angle.

And if you look at the bottom right corner of your grips, it hangs below the frame/mainspring housing. I am assuming this is the result of you adding aftermarket grips without blending, not the gunsmith's lack of fitting.

Yes sir, I am aware of all the fitment details you were identifying. My point in offering the GI for folks' viewing pleasure was to dispel the idea that some endorsed that 1911 shooters such as myself are more taken with pistol "bling" that functionality. I like a pistol that goes boom every time. Additionally, Alex makes a no-nonsense 1911 with a very high level of craftsmanship. Is anyone gonna mistake it for a chambers or harrison? Prob not. However, I do think the "issues" you pointed out were a lil off base:0

Front strap, you'll have to point out the checkering discrepancy. This is the rugged 15lpi checkering they use on some of the pistols. Not seeing the same multi-height lines that you mentioned.


Similarly, do not see the overhang here.



Does the safety fit like an OJ glove? Sure, maybe a little.
