I would choose neither. They are all inferior to Springfield Custom guns.

Sorry but Springfields start life in brazil. Im all about American cars, tools, and guns. Yes I know RIA isnt American but 500 bucks for guns to mess with isnt bad.

So do Mercedes, VW, and many aircraft parts.

Imbel makes excellent forgings. The rest of a Custom Springer is made here.

Hahahaha, dude. How many of which manufacturer do you own? How many rounds do you have through each of them? I am always curious as to how people come to such conclusions. What was it you didn't like about your WC's, NH's and GI's? How was your SACS pistol superior? Can you post some pics of the SACS pistol? Most owners of custom shop springers do not rate them any higher than other semi-custom 1911's so I'm curious as to what else is in the safe and what you mean by superior? The two I have shot were great guns but by no means superior to all others mentioned here.

Can't believe I forgot to link you my thread:

Hopefully that helps with your decision and establishing your criteria.

A good gunsmith/custom shop will usually:

              1) Demonstrate precise fitment and blending. Aesthetically, key areas to look at are the beavertail grip safety, magazine well, slide to frame fit, "straightness" of the lines, ball cuts, french border, serrations, checkering, etc.

              2) Be able to explain why and how they do each job if you ask, unless they are trade secrets.

Finally, if you want a gun with good resale value, it's important you look at the used market to gauge how much you can get for your particular shop/gunsmith of choice. Hence most people's recommendation for Wilson Combat in the semicustom market.

Some shops such as Volkmann and Heirloom Precision have great resale value as well, it's just very difficult for a majority of the population to justify the purchase of a $4000 gun, much less used, even if it is heirloom quality.

If I have the money, I would get a Wilson CQB specially ordered in two-tone finish.

If you want a Springfield Custom gun that is on par with the Nighthawk and WC....look into the Springfield Professional. Definitely will hold it's value.

I own two Professionals currently. I have owned three, but sold one. I also have owned three Baers, and a Wilson. I have shot them and reloaded for them, thousands of rounds. I also own an accurized Colt. I have closely examined various NH and EB pistols, but did not buy them.

What didn't I like? The machining and fit of various moving parts. Semi customs are all pretty until you look closer. Maybe your attention to detail is lacking. Have you owned any of these? Have you taken any apart? Frankly, I'm tired of people like you challenging me on matters where you don't know what you're talking about. Buy some guns, get some experience, then post your comments.

You sound angry and ill informed. Therefore, you will be right no matter what. I concede to the superiority of the SACS pistol. I will tell the baers, EB's, WC's, Guncrafters, colts and DW in my safe that j-cat had an armorers block and a mallet and that you are all garbage as a result of his tinkering. Hahahhaha

I'm not angry. I'm frustrated with people more concerned with curves and colors than repeatabity and precision.

How come nobody has mentioned STI's? I've got my eye on a couple. One in 45 one in 9mm. I've heard nothing but awesomeness about them. In fact next year to celebrate brownie's veto of the SSE bill I'm gonna SSE a spartan V in 9mm. Why next year ? I'm a little light in the funds department. Been a busy year I guess for many of us, huh

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

No offense and I appreciate your feedback but no Springfields. I cant justify paying that much for something forged in Brazil. Not my style.

                            Dang, too many good choices.

Yeah, you need a nap and a sandwich. Maybe you won't be so cranky. The OP asked for pistols other than SA (I have a few Springers in the safe, I'm no hater) so I offered him that. People that get their feelings hurt when their possessions are not celebrated by all others just make me laugh.

On another note, Here is my super dressed up, heavily roll marked "curve and color" go to shooter. Guncrafter Industries "No Name".

I don't give a rats *** if people celebrate my choice of firearm.

I'm stating that my choice of firearm is better made that the other choices. Since you have no experience with my choice of firearm because you don't own one and haven't taken one apart, don't challenge my assertion. I don't crap on your 1911. I've not taken one apart. All I'm saying is that SACS beats the choices in the OP.
