Oh you want to get away from 9mm?...

Unless you have tons of guns or some real high end ones no reason to buy a safe. Your TV probably costs more then a handgun and it sits in the open every day. Your car costs much more at stays outside all night.. a few guns in the closet dosent warrant a safe. If you live with phsycos don't but a safe buy a new living situation. Otherwise buy ammo.

Multiple guns-Variety is the spice of life!
      9mm, 38 spl, 357 mag, 40S&W, 45 ACP, 44 mag, etc,etc.
Besides, with more guns, you divide the wear and tear between them and they last longer!

One of the justifications I use to keep more and not downsize.

I'd go 45ACP or 357/.44. it's mostly due to cost and living arrangements at the moment. Plus I have other purchases intended as well. Or I could just stay with 9mm and trade the 40s&w for a 9. Lol
Just thoughts as I don't own a safe and staying with 2a friendly family members.
        I gotcha.

Hope that your family members don't have kids. I suggest an HK45 if you wanted a single .45 pistol.

When I "consolidate" it's down to just 4-5 calibers.. of handguns.. lol

Also, if you don't have some sort of safe or security device then you're doing a disservice to the gun community.

Hopefully they are locked up in some fashion...

            I 100% disagree.

As firearm owners, we have a responsibility to secure our firearms. It's a helluva lot easier to break in and steal firearms then TVs.

Awful advice. Horrible justification. It's not the cost to replace, but safety.

IF anybody get's a hold of your pistol and is screwing around with it, you'll have a heavy heart for the rest of your life. Not worth it. Spend the couple hundred dollars and get a safe. Some sort of safe to keep your pistols and other valuables secure.

              Happy shooting and be safe.

You need to have *something* before downsizing .

It's about keeping it secured and safely stored... It is our responsibility as gun owners and we need to encourage our fellow gun owners to do the same

No children, youngest in the house is 19, my uncle owns a few firearms and is ok with me storing them there for now.
As for what type of gun, I'm already dead set on a shiny 1911 or an awesome revolver. But I could just keep the 9 and sell the 40 or trade for another 9.
But I need a safe, more so when I find a place to live a secure m living arrangements lol.
But Z, enough 9mm rounds plus shot placement should do the job if necessary right? Lol
And the next big purchase after the safe is a semi auto shotgun for skeet anD HD

Not debating, deciding a personal choice decision of staying with 9mm or get a shiny 1911. Lol. I'm not starting crap, just asking your opinion.

My HD gun, and my carry gun are 9mm.

Most pistol calibers are pretty much equally ineffective.

It's good to have options in calibers, you never know when a certain caliber may be out of stock
