    Need Suggestion for Compact/Subcompact .45

    Hi All

    Looking for a nice compact/subcompact .45 ACP

I STRONGLY prefer DA/SA, but would consider a DAO.
I don't have a lot of experience with striker-fired guns, but I'm open to learning and familiarizing myself.

    I currently own a sig p220, p229 (40/357), sp2022(9mm), and a 4 or 5 different 1911s.

I have read good things about the G30/S/SF, although the p220 compact is just a hair bigger. My main concern is while I do love my sigs, a p220 compact + SSE is going to be double the cost of a glock.

Any other honorable mentions? XDs or M&P?
Perhaps another hammered DA/SA that my feeble mind is not aware of?

Or do I just bite the bullet and get the damn ugly glock

    How about a HK45c?

I would love one, but here in CA, SSE'ing one would void any warranty.

Springfield Armory XDM 3.8" .45 ACP Compact. 3.8" match grade barrel, short reset trigger, 9 +1 capacity of .45 ACP with an additional large capacity mag of 13 rounds (even though you'd still be limited to 10 rounds, it will add more grip if necessary or more firepower if you move to a free state).

HK USPc. I have one in 9mm and love it. Can go DA/SA or cocked and locked SA. On another note, I have never been able to shoot Glocks well, bought and sold 2 9mm's, but own a Glock 30sf and love it- way more accurate than I was w my G17. Go figure, but I do really like my G30sf.
HK USPc great option though imho.

I had a XD 45 compact. Really liked it, but ended up going all 9mm.

have not shot a g30 yet... only glock I've shot was a g22 and it was extremely flippy to me

in noticing no one is recommending m&ps... not popular?

Sig P245s come up here from time to time. I picked one up a couple of years ago and since then my P220R and my P239/9 have been left home in the safe.

My Gen3 G30 has become one of my favorite handguns. I have not added anything to it other than extra magazines and a rubberized Talon grip tape.
It handles very well for its compact size, its NEVER been picky with any ammo ive put through it. I honestly have nothing bad to say about it.

I would have to say that a p245/p220compact are my 1st choices. It's hard for me to balance patience with fear - considering the p245 is off roster now, and I don't know if the p220 compact ever was. But the used p245 price point is just about perfect

                        What is your use?

If it is SD/EDC, don't overlook the Glock 36. They are outstanding light weight and compact single-stack .45ACP's.

                          Try the G30SF.

lots of glock fans. i do like the price point as well.

right now the intended use is just a small gun in 45
