I went to the range last Saturday, shot two magazines (6 rounds) packed up, went home and cleaned my gun.

I clean after every session at the range, whether 20 rounds or 250 through the weapon.

Take care of your gun and it won't let you down. All of my guns always go back into the safe gunstore clean. Cleaning guns is part of the hobby and frankly I find it to be a very enjoyable part. Great fun cleaning my Ruger GP100 or S&W 686 while watching "Dirty Harry" ... that's why I have a TV rigged out at the gun bench.

Same here. I actually enjoy cleaning them more than shooting them. It puts me in a state of perfect peace and happiness.

even clean it if you don't fire in a while.

I generally clean mine after every range trip unless I'm going right back out the next day. Not an obsessive cleaning most of the time, usually it takes 5-10 minutes.

I do that even though I mostly shoot HK's which are known for going strong after thousands of rounds without cleaning. I've personally gone 800+ rounds with mine at training classes without a glitch. But I'm in a sometimes damp coastal climate, so why tempt fate.

Hell I don't even clean them after 500 rounds! I've shot my last 3 competitions with out cleaning. But hey it's a Sig P226.

I clean it after every range trip. My HD gun gets cleaned right away and the others maybe the following day or two. Its more of me enjoying to clean my guns vs thinking its going to fail on me if I dont.
