If you own a Glock, it literally takes 5 minutes to do a quick field stril and cleaming. In my humble opinion, if you want to make sure(as possible) that if the day comes when you have to pull the trigger to save yourself or your loved ones, that that thing goes bang instead of click...clean it!!!

However, I'm cutting down from 200 to 40 rounds due to the cost. So starting tomorrow, my wife and I will only spend 40 rounds each from our guns (9mm & .40) and will just shoot more with 22LR instead.

My question is, if they're your gun, will you clean it with just 40 rounds fired each or can you wait until your next trip to the range?
nah, ymmv, it doesn't get that dirty after 40.

I've cleaned my AR after just three rounds.

I had to shoot three rounds to get my rifle certificate at On Target. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't stick around that day after class to do some more shooting.

I knew I didn't have to clean it, but the thought of a dirty gun in my safe drives me crazy, so I went ahead and cleaned it the next day.

I ALWAYS tell myself, "oh, you only put 50 rounds thru it...wipe it down, snake the barrel a couple of times and it should be gtg"..........then

I get home start wiping, and, before I know it, it's field stripped and I'm giving it a thorough cleaning never fails...seems easier to clean, the build-up is still fresh and it gives me a chance to appease my brain

I've actually got up at 3 am in the past, because it bothered me so much, that one of the firearms didn't get cleaned to my satisfaction

Glocks, after two to three hundred rounds.
Others, every time after the range.

i always clean after firing it. i remember watching my dad clean his rifles after hunting when i was just a kid and he always cleaned them and he enjoyed it if i remember right.

i'll usually run a bore snake through at the range after i'm done and then field strip it and clean it when i get home. it's a pretty quick and painless process, especially when you always clean it.

I enjoy cleaning my guns, so I clean them after every time shoot them regardless of how many rounds. 40 rounds I would just run a couple patches down the barrel and call it good.

Wipe down with oily rag - more to protect from my sweat than anything related to firing it. Unless it is a showpiece, I guess. Cleaning is just uneeded wear and tear.
If it was a snake, it would have bit me.
