Best subcompact ever!

and it was made in 1929! I've shot all the subcompacts and without a doubt IMHO, the Walther PP/PPKs' are the best. Small, so they're great for EDC and much more accurate than most pistol their size. Plus, they're great looking!

I picked up this one recently. It was made in the 1950s' and she's still sweet. Took her out for a test run recently. Here is a video. Enjoy.

I have a PPK/s from he early 80s, and I am a pretty big fan. I am not sure that it's the best subcompact, but it has a nostalgia about it...

Yeah I would have to agree with RoundEye, love the ppk, but definitely not the best subcompact, I would pick the kahr pm9, ruger lc9, keltec p32....etc over the ppk for best subcompact.

Funny story. I have friend who is a bikini model and she said that i could go to her place to do a photoshoot of her for the video. I told my wife was going to gone for a couple hours to do a photoshoot with my friend. My wife just stared at me and said "sure, why don't you do that." And walked away. I think that was a "NO" in girl speak. So, i had to change the video idea.

the cz 82 is the king of small blowbacks

CZ-82 isn't a pocket pistol per se. But it packs the biggest punch you can get in blowback. (With the exception of the Hi-point 45 blowback).

But in pocket pistol size, weight not so much, the most powerful blowback piece you can get is the P-64. 9x18mm

I've always wanted one. I had a chance to buy a SS one back in the early '80's, but decided I didn't want to buy it from a car salesman out of the trunk of his car.

All nice guns, tried them or owned them in the past, but the Walther seems to fit me best. I just couldn't miss with it. I had less than 50 rounds to play with when I went out to shoot this video which was the first time I ever tried this pistol. It took me about 20 shots to figure out the sighting system. After that, I hardly ever missed. Pretty impressive given that it was originally designed in 1929 and this particular pistol was made in the 1950s'.

I vehemently disagree with what I highlighted in red. I have owned all three guns you mentioned as well as the PPK and PPK/S. The PP platform outpaces all three of those guns you mentioned in terms of build quality, trigger and accuracy. Come on, seriously? The Ruger LC9? I would think someone would have to be tripping on LSD to think that was a better subcompact than a PPK.

That said, there are much better guns in the same size category as the PPK such as the Colt Mustang Pocketlite/Sig P238. .380acp (yes, most consider it to be the smallest caliber one should use for a defensive weapon) locked-breech vs blowback = much more pleasant to shoot. Much lighter than the PPK but not so light as to make shooting it unpleasant but light enough for it to not feel like it is weighing you down all day. I will say that the fit and finish on a german PPK is far above and beyond the quality I have ever seen on a Sig P238.

Not trying to hate on the PPK, I actually gave away my P238 to my GF since I never really carry it anyway, and I have high hopes that my dad wasn't pulling my leg when he hinted at giving me his old back-up Interarms import PPK/S 380, but I don't see it as the end-all be-all of sub-compact pistols, maybe 50-60 years ago, but not in the current day and age, and especially if you want a NEW gun, since they screwed the pooch by having S&W build them. As much as I love S&W, they royally screwed up with their PPK(/S) pistols.

I find that most of the "modern" subcompacts like the Kel Tec or the LC9 are more "get the f&*k off of me" guns. Your target has to be on top of you. They don't compare to the likes of the PP/PPK pistols in accuracy and handling when you have to shoot with any kind of distance. The new age subs are so bad when you have to reach out with some distance, chances are you'll be out of luck.
