How much SD/HD ammo?

I have about 2,000 rounds of HP ammunition on-hand, but I load my own ammunition, and load Hornady XTP exclusively. In fact, I don't think my 1911 has ever seen a single round of ball ammunition.

I'm the same way, most of my guns have never seen a factory round while I have owned them.

Just wondering how much premium defensive hollow point ammo you guys keep on hand per each caliber you have or even per handgun you have?

I am trying to get my ammo situation to the point I am happy with what I have, just wondering what you guys do as far as HD ammo.

About 200-250 rounds, and 1000 rounds of target fmj. This is for my 9mm glock 19 gen 4.

I shoot about a mag or so after the end of each practice session so I can remember and get a feel for how my HD ammo is like.

If your gun has never shot the HD ammo before, shoot at least 50 rounds to know it runs well. Yeah I know it sucks, that is about 30 bucks of ammo, however it must be done.

One thousand rounds of good hp ammo for each caliber. Usually keep at least 1500-3000 rounds of .45/9mm/556/7.62x39 lying around. After all, what good are empty guns?

Couple thousand rounds of every handgun (Federal HST JHP mostly, with some Winchester Ranger LEO JHP) and rifle (Federal 62gr green tip & PMC X-Tac 62gr green tip) caliber. 100 rounds of 00 buckshot (I keep less buckshot on hand b/c I'm likely to be dumping the tactical shotgun during a critical situation after expending all the shells in it).

I wonder how many CGers only have a single piece for SD/HD purposes on hand? I've got multiples of the same handgun strategically placed around my house (along with multiples of the same for the piece my wife shoots). 3 loaded mags for each piece means there's easily several hundred rounds total ready and waiting in various safes, so neither of us are very far from accessing defensive weapons.
