    Good Bye .40 Cal.

    I did it!

Finally walked away form the .40 Cal. Sold my 2 Glocks and a 44 magnum to boot, which I replaced with Gen 4: G21, G26 and G20.

    I feel liberated!

I didn't consider myself a Fanboi, but after taking inventory I guess I may fall into that category I still love my Kimber, Berretta, BHP and CZ so don't get it twisted.

The G21 and G26 are on-duty carries, I wanted to have "the system" whereby both primary and secondary weapons utilize the same caliber and can share magazines, but trying to hide a full size Glock (G30) that wasn't going to happen, so I settled for the G26 9mm and I'm better off for it.

I wanted to keep the 44 magnum for hunting, but after realizing the limitations of the S&W 629, it was time to step-up and get a G20 10mm that can handle the big boy ammo, and a lot of it to boot.

Consolidation comes in many shapes and styles, this time I feel like I hit the trade-up lottery. As well as I shot the .40 cal, I just shoot the .45 much better. I love the .40, if you told me I could only have one round and I had to use it in both handgun and carbine, I'd take the .40. But in a world with so many choices, the do-it-all .40 was a compromise.

    All the best,

    Triple

Got rid of .40 cal, now you are in better shape??? Is that what I'm getting at? Should have kept at least one .40 cal pistol IMHO.... Never know when 45ACP, 9mm, or 10mm, is gonna be in short supply....

I am not getting rid of my G22 or G27 (I carried one as primary and the other as a backup when I was an LEO), but I did just buy a G21SF. I decided to switch over to .45 for my HD handgun, and my G22 was filling that role previously.

      Congrats on the new guns...

Are you implying that .44 mag is Inferior to 10mm for hunting?

              I think the implication was, G20 > S&W 629

Equally as debatable, I love my wheelguns.

                My butt you are dry,
The 45 is in many ways the ultimate handgun,
people shot in the shoulder, often die from the shock,
even though the wound is general non-fatal,
my personal carry is a 40,
a tradeoff of size, power and mag capacity,
still I am always thinking of the 45,
there are many others that feel likewise

                Cheer up, buddy!

Not at all. I stated the 629 S&W 44 is limited, it can't take hot loads before potentially failing, that's what I was trying to say. The 10mm Glock can take the hottest of loads and at twice the capacity.

There is nothing here to debate....

                              I'm not a Glock man,
but this is suprising to hear- a plastic gun is made more durable than typical 44 revolvers?
