    Hi point?

I just bought one. A 9 mm version. I've read and seen enough vids to assume its a pretty decent firearm. What is all of your opinion on it? A friend said it would blow up and kill my unborn children the first time I unlock it. And told me I hope you get what's coming

Lol. They are solid. Just buy really hot ammo for it, or it won't cycle well.
+p ammo works great, have gun fun!

Yea this thread will go over well....

They will not blow up under normal or extreme conditions as proved by Iraqveteran8888. They have multiple tourture test videos on them:http://www.youtube.com/user/Iraqvete...?query=hipoint

But they are still ugly as hell!
Seriously how much would it cost them to get a designer and an engineer that actually knows something about aesthetics

They aren't the prettiest, they don't have the best triggers, but everyone i have talked says two things about them; A) the are accurate and B) they go bang every time you pull the trigger.

@Chaos47: Since it is sourced almost completely by American auto parts manufacturers, I'd say aesthetics is out. ;P

Decent guns that can be very reliable (though sometimes some effort must be put in to make it that way). Not an heirloom or safe queen piece, but a good plinker.

One thing to note, do not dry cycle live ammo through the gun unless you have to. It uses the firing pin as a pivot for ejecting rounds. More than one person has reported an AD while cycling live rounds.

I have a nice 1911 for looks a glock for function a px4 for fun and a single six for old time sake. I wanted this one cuz a it was cheap and b I don't care what happens to it. It's just a beater. I see they handle abuse well. Isn't there warranty pretty good too ?

I've considered one as well, as a home defense weapon. Mostly because I can keep the mags loaded as long as I need since they are so cheap. I wouldn't care if I wear the springs. I can also just leave it in the small safe and not worry about it.
The nice pistols go in the main safe. All it needs to do is go bang like was mentioned before. Them being accurate is a nice bonus :P

I do have the HP carbine and that is a pretty good gun. I have a lot of fun with it. And it is very accurate.

They're good for home defense. Should you should have to use it you will not miss it while it's in the evidence locker.
