10 round mags req'd for ppt??

Hello Calgunners? For a pistol ppt, do I need to bring/show 10 round mags? Only rebuild kits are available from seller. Have also checked online and 10 rounders are not available. I appreciate any advice.

What pistol is it? Your ffl may require at least one for the safe handling demonstration if they don't stock that gun or a comparable one that they can use a magazine from. If its one that they have a magazine for in the case (like if its a Glock 19 and they have a 19 or 17 in the case they can pull a mag from) you should be fine but if not you may run into issues.

Its an FNH FNS in .40. I dont think there are any 10 rounders available.

I have only had 1 safety demo ever. Out of 6 handgun purchases....
That would be a damn shame if you couldnt take it because they couldnt perform the demo though.

well, if they don't have a large-cap mag permit, it would be illegal for them to manufacture a large-cap mag.

It allows the add to cart so they may have it.

The FFL still has to sign off the demo form. When I picked up my GP100, the form was already signed by the guy that wrote up the deal. I assume he saw me handle it well enough when I examined it before buying. I sure this varies widely.

If the 10 rounder doesn't work maybe you can put a block in one of the mags to limit to less than 10. A block of wood or maybe a piece of rifle brass would work. It wouldn't matter how much it held as long as its less than 10. After the demo it can be returned to repair kit status. Just a thought.

I have been to one FFL that did require a 10 round mag to transfer and they didn't even do a safe handleing demonstration. Call your FFL first and check.
